ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT / JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Experience: 13 years; freshers with solid accounting fundamentals may also be considered.

Role Overview

Support day-to-day accounting for SRL’s restaurant and office operations, ensuring accurate entries, timely reconciliations, proper documentation and adherence to company processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Record sales, receipt, payment and journal entries in the accounting system.
- Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, goods receipt records and approvals before processing.
- Assist with vendor ledger reconciliation, payment schedules and resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Reconcile daily restaurant sales with POS reports, cash deposits, card settlements and online delivery platform settlements.
- Carry out bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding entries.
- Maintain petty cash records and verify employee expense claims and supporting bills.
- Assist with GST and TDS workings, reconciliations and documentation under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support inventory accounting by checking purchase, stock transfer and consumption records and highlighting discrepancies.




- Assist with month-end closing, expense schedules, provisions and routine MIS reports.
- Maintain organised accounting records and provide supporting documents for internal and statutory audits.
- Coordinate with restaurant teams, purchase, stores and vendors to obtain documents and close pending entries.
- Follow company approval processes and maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Qualifications & Skills

- B.Com or equivalent qualification in Commerce / Accounting.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and ledger scrutiny.
- Working knowledge of Tally / ERP accounting software.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including basic formulas, lookups and PivotTables.
- Basic knowledge of GST, TDS and invoice documentation.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in restaurants, hospitality, retail or another multi-unit business will be an advantage.

- Timely completion of bank, vendor and sales reconciliations.
- Prompt identification and resolution of discrepancies.
- Complete supporting documentation and compliance with approval processes.
- Timely support for monthly closing and audits.
