About the Role
Hella Gutmann is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Data Engineer / Principal Software Engineerto join ourIndia Software Development Centre. This role is ideal for a highly skilledtechnologist with 15 years of software engineering experience strongexpertise in C Python and a passion for building intelligentAI-driven data platforms - preferably within the automotive domain.
You will play a key role in designing and implementingscalable data and AI systems that power next-generation vehicle diagnosticstelematics and service solutions with a focus on Agentic AI systemsautomation and intelligent decision-making frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Engineering
Design and implement high-performance scalable data pipelines and platformsusing C and Python.
Architect solutions for processing large-scale automotive data (vehicle diagnostics telemetry IoT streams).
Ensure performance reliability and maintainability of distributed systems.
Data Engineering
Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines real-time streaming systems and data lakes.
Work with structured and unstructured datasets from automotive systems.
Ensure data governance quality and availability.
Collaboration & Leadership
Lead technical design discussions and mentor senior/junior engineers.
Collaborate with global teams across Germany and other locations.
Drive engineering best practices code quality and innovation.
Translate business needs into technical solutions aligned with automotive standards.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
10 yearsof software engineering experience.
Strong hands-on expertise in:
C (core systems performance-oriented programming)
Python (data engineering AI/ML integration)
Work with SQLdatabases fordatastorage querying and validation.
Proven experience in:
Building distributed systems and data pipelines
Working with large-scale data processing systems
Strong understanding of:
System design algorithms and performance optimization
Automotive protocols (CAN OBD-II ODX OTX UDS and DoIP)
Software architecture (microservices event-driven systems)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the automotive industry(OEMs Tier-1 suppliers diagnostics telematics).
Experience with AI/ML systems including exposure to:
LLMs AI agents or intelligent automation frameworks
Agentic AI frameworks(multi-agent systems autonomous workflows)
Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
Streaming technologies (Kafka Flink Spark)
Knowledge of KOS(Knowledge organization system)
Familiarity with:
Data platforms and big data ecosystems
Experience leading global engineering teams or large initiatives
Key Competencies
Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to operate at architectural and hands-on levels
Leadership mindset with mentoring capability
Innovation-driven and adaptable to emerging technologies
Excellent communication in English language and cross-cultural collaboration
