Responsibilities

Lead large, complex, cross-team technical projects for the Core Marketplace.

Make technology and architecture decisions, communicate trade-offs, and contribute to high- and low-level design.

Write code and build scalable, highly available software systems.

Improve code quality, reduce technical debt, and increase developer productivity.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple platforms and domains.

Mentor engineers and provide technical, industry, and leadership guidance.

Develop product and business domain knowledge and use it to build innovative marketplace features.

Requirements

At least 8 years of software development experience.

At least 2 years of experience as a Lead Engineer or in an equivalent technical leadership role.

Experience leading technical work across multiple engineering teams.





A track record of building scalable systems and experience with microservices and highly available web-scale systems.

Solid computer science fundamentals and practical software development, architecture, and design experience.

Deep knowledge of distributed systems concepts, problems, and solution patterns.

Strong hands-on programming skills in Go, Python, or Java.

Deep knowledge of open-source and cloud-native software.

Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including databases, key-value stores, caching systems, and search engines.

Strong communication, collaboration, integrity, resourcefulness, and focus on impact.
