Key ResponsibilitiesThe Physical Education Teacher is expected to uphold the values and discipline of the institution, maintain qualified conduct, support the holistic development of students, and contribute to the overall academic and extracurricular activities of the college.Plan and conduct physical education classes for PU I and PU II students in accordance with the college curriculum and institutional guidelines.Organise and supervise sports, games, athletics, yoga, fitness sessions, and other physical activities.Coach students in indoor and outdoor sports and prepare them for inter-collegiate, district, state, and other competitions.Identify talented students and encourage their participation in competitive sports.Organise annual sports meets, tournaments, fitness programmes, and inter-house or inter-class competitions.Maintain sports equipment, playgrounds, courts, and other physical education facilities.Monitor students physical fitness, participation, progress, and sporting performance.Ensure student safety during sports activities and follow appropriate injury-prevention and emergency procedures.Maintain attendance records, sports registers, equipment inventories, activity reports, and competition records.Promote discipline, fair play, leadership, teamwork, inclusivity, and a healthy lifestyle among students.Coordinate with the Principal, teaching staff, parents,



and sports associations for sports-related activities.Encourage student participation in yoga, wellness, fitness awareness, and recreational activities.Perform other duties related to physical education and student development as assigned by the management.Educational QualificationsBachelors degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or an equivalent recognised qualification.A Masters degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) will be an added advantage.Relevant coaching certifications or specialised training in sports will be preferred.Candidates must meet the applicable qualification requirements prescribed by the relevant education authorities and the institution.ExperienceExperience in teaching physical education at the PU College, higher secondary, or equivalent level is preferred.Experience in coaching students for sports competitions and organising sports events will be an advantage.Freshers with the required qualifications and strong sports skills may also apply, subject to institutional requirements.Required Skills and CompetenciesStrong knowledge of sports, games, fitness training, and physical education practices.Good communication, leadership,



and student-management skills.Ability to motivate students and encourage participation across different skill levels.Knowledge of sports safety, basic first aid, and injury prevention.Strong organisational and event-management skills.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and college management.Commitment to student welfare, discipline, professional ethics, and inclusive participation.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Effective conduct of physical education classes and sports activities.Student participation and engagement in sports and fitness programmes.Student performance in inter-collegiate and other sporting competitions.Successful planning and execution of sports events.Proper maintenance and utilisation of sports facilities and equipment.Compliance with student safety procedures and institutional policies.
