Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, disciplined, and dedicated Hostel Warden to supervise hostel operations and ensure the safety, security, discipline, and overall well-being of students residing in the school hostel. The ideal candidate should possess good communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to maintain a safe, caring, and well-organized residential environment for students.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Student Supervision: Supervise students in the hostel and ensure proper discipline, punctuality, and adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
- Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of all hostel residents and remain vigilant during designated duty hours, including nights, as required.
- Daily Routine Management: Monitor students' daily routines, including waking up, personal hygiene, study hours, meal times, recreational activities, and bedtime.
- Discipline Management: Maintain discipline and decorum in the hostel and address behavioural issues in a fair, firm, and constructive manner.
- Student Welfare: Take care of students' physical and emotional well-being and provide appropriate guidance and support when required.
- Attendance and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, leave applications,



hostel entry and exit, visitors, and other essential hostel activities.
- Coordination with School Authorities: Maintain regular communication with the school administration, teachers, parents, and other concerned staff regarding students' welfare and hostel-related matters.
- Health and Emergency Management: Respond promptly to illness, injuries, emergencies, or safety concerns and coordinate medical assistance whenever necessary.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene: Ensure that hostel rooms, washrooms, dining areas, and common spaces are clean, hygienic, and properly maintained.
- Food and Facilities Monitoring: Monitor the quality of food, drinking water, sanitation, and other hostel facilities, and report any issues to the concerned authorities.
- Study and Activity Supervision: Ensure that students attend scheduled study hours, participate in routine activities, and follow the prescribed hostel timetable.
- Reporting and Documentation: Report serious disciplinary matters, safety concerns, student complaints, and operational issues promptly to the school management.
- Positive Student Environment: Promote mutual respect, good manners, responsibility, cooperation,



and a positive atmosphere among hostel residents.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum qualification: Graduation preferred.
- Candidates with 1–3 years of experience as a Hostel Warden, Residential Supervisor, House Parent, or in a similar role will be preferred.
- Experience in a school hostel, boarding school, or residential educational institution will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience handling school-going children and adolescents will be given preference.
- Basic computer knowledge and record-keeping skills are desirable.
