Position: Traffic Manager

Department: Admin
Location: CGC University, Punjab
Reporting To: Administration / Security Head
Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Job Summary

CGC University is seeking a responsible, proactive, and experienced Traffic Manager to oversee and manage traffic movement within and around the university campus. The role involves ensuring smooth vehicular movement, maintaining pedestrian safety, managing parking facilities, preventing traffic congestion, and coordinating with security and administration teams to maintain a safe and disciplined campus workplace.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Traffic Management and Control

- Supervise and regulate vehicular movement at university entry and exit gates.
- Ensure smooth traffic flow during peak hours, student arrival and dispersal, and major university events.
- Prevent traffic congestion and unauthorized vehicle movement within the campus.
- Develop and implement traffic management plans for daily operations and special events.
- Ensure proper movement of buses, cars, two-wheelers, emergency vehicles, and other authorized vehicles.

B. Parking Management

- Oversee parking areas for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university buses.
- Ensure systematic parking arrangements and prevent unauthorized or improper parking.
- Coordinate with security personnel to maintain parking discipline.
- Identify parking-related issues and recommend corrective measures.

C. Safety and Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable traffic rules, campus regulations, and safety procedures.
- Promote pedestrian safety at crossings, walkways, and high-traffic zones.
- Ensure proper placement and maintenance of traffic signs, barricades, cones, and directional boards.
- Coordinate with the Security Department to manage traffic violations and resolve traffic-related incidents.
- Facilitate clear access for ambulances, fire services, and other emergency vehicles.

D. Team Supervision and Coordination

- Supervise traffic marshals, security guards,



and other personnel assigned to traffic management, where applicable.
- Prepare duty rosters and allocate responsibilities for peak-hour traffic control.
- Coordinate with university administration, security, transport, housekeeping, and event management teams.
- Brief staff on traffic procedures, emergency protocols, and campus safety requirements.

E. Reporting and Documentation

- Maintain records of traffic incidents, congestion, parking issues, and corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly traffic management reports as required.
- Monitor recurring traffic problems and recommend practical improvements.
- Report accidents, safety hazards, and major violations to the concerned authorities promptly.

F. Event and Emergency Traffic Management

- Prepare traffic and parking arrangements for university functions, admissions, examinations, convocations, festivals, and other large gatherings.
- Coordinate vehicle movement and parking for VIPs, guests, parents, and visitors.
- Implement traffic diversion and crowd movement plans during emergencies or high-footfall events.

3. Educational Qualifications

- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
- A diploma or certification in traffic management, transport management, safety management, or security operations will be an added advantage.

4. Experience

- Preferably 3–5 years of experience in traffic management, transport operations, campus administration, security supervision, or a similar role.
- Experience in managing traffic at educational institutions, corporate campuses, hospitals, industrial facilities, or large public venues will be preferred.




- Experience in supervising teams and handling high-traffic situations is desirable.

5. Required Skills and Competencies

- Strong traffic control and operational planning skills.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage congestion and resolve traffic-related issues calmly.
- Knowledge of road safety, parking management, and emergency response procedures.
- Good observation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and during university events, when required.
- Basic computer skills for preparing reports and maintaining records.
- High levels of discipline, accountability, and professional conduct.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will be assessed on the basis of:

- Smooth traffic flow at campus entry and exit points.
- Reduction in traffic congestion and improper parking.
- Compliance with campus traffic and parking regulations.
- Timely resolution and reporting of traffic-related incidents.
- Effectiveness of traffic arrangements during university events.
- Team discipline, attendance, and operational readiness.
- Improvement in safety for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

7. Working Conditions

- The role requires regular on-ground supervision across the university campus.
- The incumbent may be required to work during peak traffic hours, weekends, holidays, and special university events.
- The position involves coordination with multiple departments and responding promptly to operational emergencies.

Pay : ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
