Cosmetic Chemist – Ingredient Education & Content Strategy

We are a cosmetic raw materials supplier looking for an experienced cosmetic chemist with deep ingredient knowledge and an interest in education, content creation, and community engagement.

You should understand more than what an ingredient does. We’re looking for someone who knows why it is used, how it behaves in a formula, what it works well with, and what can go wrong. Your education and practical experience should reflect that depth.

Responsibilities

- Create educational content for social media and our online maker community.
- Lead thoughtful discussions and answer ingredient and formulation questions.
- Write content for Klaviyo emails, including ingredient features, product launches, and educational campaigns.
- Plan a content strategy around real questions and challenges faced by cosmetic makers.
- Explain ingredient selection, compatibility, substitutions, and common formulation mistakes in clear, practical language.
- Research topics and verify technical accuracy using reliable references and supplier documentation.
- Suggest fresh ideas and take ownership of content planning and follow-through.

Qualifications

- Formal education in cosmetic science, cosmetic chemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field,



with relevant cosmetic formulation training.
- Hands-on experience developing, testing, or troubleshooting cosmetic and personal care formulations.
- Solid knowledge of emulsifiers, surfactants, preservatives, emollients, humectants, actives, and other cosmetic ingredients.
- A practical understanding of pH, solubility, processing methods, stability, and preservation.
- Strong written English and the ability to explain technical concepts in an approachable, engaging way.
- A genuine interest in teaching, writing, and participating in a maker community.
- Strong organization and the ability to work independently.

Experience with Klaviyo, social media strategy, or community management is a plus. Technical expertise and clear communication are essential.
