Role Description The Sports Editor role at Criclive.in is a full-time, on-site position based in Janakpuri. The Sports Editor will oversee daily sports coverage, with a strong focus on cricket and additional attention to sports such as football, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging content across articles, match reports, features, and opinion pieces. Responsibilities include assigning and editing stories, refining headlines and layouts, managing press releases, and coordinating with writers and contributors to maintain editorial standards. The role involves monitoring live matches and news feeds, shaping content around major events, and enhancing fan engagement through clear, compelling, and insightful sports journalism.



The Sports Editor will collaborate closely with the digital and social media teams to align content with audience interests and platform goals. Qualifications
• Strong Sports Writing and general Writing skills, with the ability to produce transparent, engaging, and accurate content under tight deadlines.
• Background in Journalism, including knowledge of editorial best practices, news judgment, and ethical reporting standards.
• Experience drafting and editing Press Releases, media notes, and official statements related to sports coverage.
• Deep understanding of Football and cricket, including rules, trends, major leagues, tournaments, and fan culture.
• Excellent editing and proofreading abilities, with attention to detail, structure, and tone.
• Ability to lead and coordinate with writers and contributors, providing constructive feedback and clear direction.
• Strong research skills and familiarity with digital publishing tools, content management systems, and social media platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Willingness to work match-driven hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak tournament periods when required.
