About the Role
Role summary Join a Pune-based video podcast studio creating professionally produced long-form interviews, expert conversations and short-form digital content, primarily for Marathi-speaking audiences. The role combines technical execution with editorial judgment, dependable production workflows and a consistent viewer/listener experience.

Key responsibilities
• Prepare microphones, booms/lavaliers or energetic broadcast mics, audio interfaces/mixers, headphones and recorders before each session.
• Run sound checks, manage microphone technique, gain staging, isolation, monitoring and backup recording for host and guests.
• Monitor long-form sessions for clipping, buzz, plosives, RF dropouts, room noise, rubbing or channel failures and resolve issues discreetly.
• Ingest, label, synchronize and back up separate speaker tracks; deliver properly named, technically sound audio files.
• Edit dialogue with selective noise reduction, de-click/de-plosive, EQ, dynamics,



de-essing and appropriate room tone without overprocessing.
• Balance voices with differing timbres, volume and mic technique; remove disruptive noises and edit gaps or mistakes while preserving natural speech.
• Mix and master the final podcast for video and optional audio-only platforms; check loudness, true peak, mono compatibility and intelligibility.
• Coordinate sync-ready audio masters, SFX/music elements, version changes and exports with the video editor.
• Maintain microphones, wireless systems, cables and acoustic treatment; recommend improvements to recording quality. Essential skills and qualifications
• 2–5 years of experience in location/studio sound recording or post-production; strong spoken-word examples
• Proficiency in Adobe Audition, Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic Pro or DaVinci Fairlight.
• Knowledge of sample rates, bit depths, multitrack recording, time alignment, EQ, compression, de-essing, gating and noise restoration.
• Practical familiarity with loudness metering (LUFS / true peak), clipping prevention and speech-oriented audio quality control.
• Ability to detect subtle dialogue issues on headphones and speakers, preserve natural speech and meet repeatable export standards.
• Comfortable following Marathi speech closely enough to spot missing words, edits and continuity problems. Preferred / added advantage
• Experience with iZotope RX, remote-guest recordings, acoustically treated podcast studios and audio interfaces/mixers.
• Ability to produce audio-only podcast masters and handle light music/SFX sound design.
• Knowledge of recording redundant/backup audio and dealing with unequal speaker mic quality.
