**Meet the team:** The **Cisco Optical Network Controller (CONC)** team is building next-generation SDN software to automate, visualize, and control optical networks across multi-layer infrastructures. Our solution is built on modern, cloud-native microservices architecture. In our team, engineers have end-to-end quality and feature ownership: **we build the software and we automate the testing ourselves** , writing robust backend services in **Java** and automated test suites in **Python** . **Your Impact:** **Microservices Development:** Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices in **Java** (Spring Boot / REST / gRPC) for optical network management and control plane workflows. **- Full Dev-Test Ownership:** Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests in **Python** (PyTest, custom test harnesses) as part of your day-to-day feature deliverables. **- Continuous Integration:** Integrate automated Python test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / GitLab CI) to guarantee zero regression and rapid release cycles. **- Collaborate & Deliver:** Work closely with Technical Leads, Product Managers, and team members in an Agile Scrum model to deliver resilient, production-ready software. **Minimum Qualifications:** **Education & Experience:** Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline with **1 to 3 years** of hands-on software development experience. **- Core Java Skills:** Strong foundation in **Core Java** , OOP design patterns, data structures, and building RESTful microservices. **- Python Automation Skills:** Practical experience writing clean, maintainable **Python automation scripts/test suites** for API, integration, and functional validation.
