Quantitative / Proprietary Trader – Firm Funded

Location:
Surat, Gujarat Role Type: Proprietary Trading / Quantitative Trading Capital: Firm Funded

Experience:
3 years + Certification: Valid NISM Series VIII – Equity Derivatives Certification is compulsory

About the Role
We are looking for disciplined and research-driven quantitative/proprietary traders with independently developed trading strategies and a verifiable track record. Selected traders will be provided access to firm capital for deployment of approved strategies through the firm's proprietary trading infrastructure, subject to internal risk-management limits, compliance requirements and performance review. This opportunity is intended for traders who have already developed and tested a trading edge and are looking for institutional capital, infrastructure and risk support to scale their strategy. Mandatory Requirement Candidates must hold a valid NISM Series VIII – Equity Derivatives Certification before being permitted to operate in the relevant trading role. Applications without the required certification may be evaluated, but deployment of capital and trading access will remain subject to completion of all mandatory certifications, documentation and regulatory requirements. What We Are Looking For Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Systematic or quantitative trading
• Equity derivatives
• Futures and options
• Intraday or positional strategies
• Market-neutral strategies
• Statistical arbitrage
• Volatility trading
• Options strategies
• Market making
• Execution or microstructure-based strategies
• Rule-based discretionary strategies with a demonstrable process We are open to both quantitative and highly systematic discretionary traders, provided the trading process can be clearly documented and risk controlled. Strategy Requirements Candidates should preferably have a strategy with a meaningful live or historical track record. The strategy should be explainable in terms of:
• Market hypothesis or source of edge
• Entry and exit methodology
• Instruments traded
• Expected holding period
• Historical returns
• Maximum drawdown
• Average and worst-case losses
• Sharpe/Sortino or other relevant risk-adjusted metrics
• Number of historical trades
• Capacity and scalability

• Transaction-cost sensitivity
• Slippage assumptions
• Performance across different market regimes Backtests must avoid look-ahead bias and other unrealistic assumptions. Where applicable, candidates may be required to demonstrate their strategy on unseen/out-of-sample data before receiving capital allocation. Responsibilities The selected trader will be responsible for:
• Operating approved strategies using the firm's proprietary capital
• Following all internal RMS and exposure limits
• Monitoring strategy behaviour and abnormal market conditions
• Maintaining proper records of strategy changes
• Reporting significant deviations from expected strategy behaviour
• Cooperating with risk, compliance and technology teams
• Avoiding changes to approved systems
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding firm infrastructure, strategies and risk limits
• Complying with applicable SEBI, exchange and internal requirements All trading activity must be conducted only through accounts, systems and trading access authorized by the firm. Risk Management Capital allocation will be determined by the firm based on strategy characteristics. Limits may include:
• Maximum capital allocation
• Maximum intraday and overnight exposure
• Maximum daily loss
• Maximum strategy drawdown
• Position-size limits
• Instrument-level exposure limits
• Option Greeks/exposure limits where applicable
• Leverage limits
• Concentration limits
• Automated RMS controls The firm reserves the right to reduce, suspend or terminate a strategy if risk thresholds are breached or if the behaviour of the strategy materially deviates from the approved mandate. Capital Allocation Successful candidates may initially receive a limited capital allocation. Capital may subsequently be increased based on factors including:
• Consistency of live performance
• Drawdown behaviour
• Strategy capacity
• Risk-adjusted returns

• Operational reliability
• Adherence to risk controls
• Performance under changing market conditions Capital allocation remains entirely at the firm's discretion. Compensation Compensation may include a fixed component and/or performance-linked component depending on the trader, strategy and agreed engagement structure. Performance-based compensation, where applicable, will be calculated according to the trader's contractual arrangement with the firm and will be subject to applicable risk, drawdown and payment conditions. No guaranteed trading return is expected or required. Preferred Candidate Profile We are particularly interested in traders who:
• Think in probabilities rather than predictions
• Understand position sizing and drawdown management
• Can distinguish genuine edge from backtest overfitting
• Maintain detailed trading records
• Can explain why their strategy should continue to work
• Understand transaction costs and market impact
• Are comfortable with systematic risk controls
• Are willing to undergo independent strategy validation Experience with Python, TradingView/Pine Script, APIs, statistical analysis or quantitative research is an advantage but not mandatory for every strategy. Application Process Applicants should submit:
• Resume / professional background
• Valid NISM Series VIII certification details
• Strategy description
• Instruments and markets traded
• Historical/live performance summary
• Maximum historical drawdown
• Approximate number of trades in the track record
• Capital previously traded
• Expected capital requirement
• Supporting broker statements or independently verifiable performance records where available Shortlisted candidates may be asked to present their strategy and undergo strategy, risk and compliance evaluation before any capital is deployed. Significant This position involves trading the firm's proprietary capital through firm-authorized infrastructure. It is not an arrangement for managing client money, accepting investment funds from the public or providing guaranteed investment returns. All appointments, capital allocations, trading access and compensation arrangements are subject to the firm's internal policies and applicable regulatory and exchange requirements.
