Position: Senior Architect, Java Lead – Banking Experience Level: 6 to 8 years

Hyderabad, India (Onsite at client premises) Engagement: Full-time ROLE OVERVIEW We are seeking a Senior Architect / Java Lead to design and govern end-to-end solution architecture for a major banking client's digital platforms in Hyderabad. In this hands-on, onsite role, you will lead engineering teams to build microservices and API-first architectures across retail and corporate banking applications, ensuring non-functional execution across availability, performance, scalability, security, and disaster recovery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture & Modernization
• Define, design, and govern end-to-end solution architecture for retail and corporate banking platforms.
• Establish design principles, technical standards, and reusable frameworks.
• Drive legacy banking application modernization into scalable, microservice-based architectures. Cloud-Native & Containers
• Design Kubernetes
- and OpenShift-based microservices and API-first architectures across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Manage containerization, service discovery, ingress, scaling, secrets, service mesh, and multi-cluster disaster recovery (DR). Integration & Security
• Design secure integrations connecting digital channels, core banking systems, payment gateways, and identity platforms.
• Establish API standards for REST, lifecycle management, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Implement robust authentication protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, and IAM. Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) & Governance
• Own system scalability, high availability, resilience, data privacy, observability, and capacity planning.
• Run design reviews, conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and ensure compliance with regulatory, audit,



and security standards.
• Resolve high-level architecture production incidents and performance bottlenecks. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead technical design across multiple engineering teams and mentor tech leads and senior developers.
• Communicate architectural roadmaps, risks, and trade-offs to senior business and technology stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS Must-Have Skills

Experience:
6 to 8 years overall experience in enterprise application design and software development, with significant experience in banking or financial services.
• Architecture: Deep expertise in enterprise solution architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture, and REST API design patterns.
• Backend & Integration: Strong hands-on proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, REST API gateways, Kafka/messaging systems, and OAuth 2.0/OIDC security frameworks.
• Containers & DevOps: Direct experience with Docker/OCI, Kubernetes or OpenShift, Helm, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and observability tools.
• Data Systems: Solid background in Oracle or PostgreSQL database architecture, Redis caching, and high-availability replication.
• Domain Expertise: Practical background with retail/corporate banking journeys, core banking, and payment integrations in regulated environments. Bonus Qualifications
• Prior architecture ownership on a live digital banking platform or large-scale transformation initiative.
• Certifications: TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Architect, CKA, or CKAD.
• Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Location Requirement
