Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join the Skilled Services team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Big Data technologies, particularly Hadoop, Apache NiFi, Spark, and data engineering, along with experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions. This is a client-facing role that combines technical architecture, consulting, solution design, and development to solve complex data challenges across large enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Work directly with customer business and technical teams to understand requirements and develop high-quality solutions.
• Design highly scalable and reliable data pipelines to consume, integrate, and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources.
• Understand Big Data use cases and recommend standard design and implementation patterns for Hadoop-based deployments.
• Document and present complex architectures to customers’ technical teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Design effective data models for optimal storage and retrieval, including data quality checks.
• Design, build, tune, and maintain data pipelines using Hadoop, Apache NiFi, or related data integration technologies.
• Install, deploy, upgrade, manage, and operate large Hadoop clusters.
• Prepare technical documentation, customer status reports, and knowledge-base articles.
• Stay updated on Hadoop, NiFi, and the broader Big Data technology ecosystem. Required Skills & Qualifications




• 12+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 4+ years of production experience in Hadoop and/or NiFi and data engineering.
• Hands-on experience developing, testing, and implementing low-latency Big Data pipelines.
• Production experience in data engineering, data management, cluster management, and/or analytics.
• Experience querying data in HDFS environments using tools such as Apache Hive.
• Experience implementing MapReduce and Spark jobs.
• Experience setting up and managing multi-node Hadoop clusters.
• Experience in systems administration or DevOps using one or more open-source operating systems.
• Experience in data warehouse design, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), and efficient data warehouse architecture.
• Experience implementing operational best practices, including alerting, monitoring, and metadata management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security practices and solutions such as LDAP and Kerberos.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and/or Perl.
• Experience working with network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON or XML/SOAP.
• Understanding of the Java ecosystem and enterprise tools,



including debugging and profiling tools such as jstack, jmap, and jconsole, and logging and monitoring tools such as Log4j and JMX.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into technical requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good To Have
• Experience with Apache NiFi.
• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and practices.
• Knowledge of data management concepts, including data warehousing, ETL, and data integration.
• Experience with a compiled programming language, preferably a JVM-based language such as Java or Scala.
• Experience with streaming or micro-batch processing frameworks, preferably Kafka and Spark. Additional Information
• Willingness to travel across the Asia-Pacific region and work with customers across multiple industries.
