Role OverviewWebknot Technologies is looking for an experienced Product Designer who can own the complete product design lifecycle, from understanding user and business requirements to delivering intuitive, accessible, and implementation-ready product experiences. The ideal candidate should have robust expertise in UI/UX design, interaction design, user research, prototyping, and design systems, along with a practical understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines. This role requires a designer who can think beyond visual interfaces, identify user problems, evaluate design decisions, and develop solutions that balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility. As the primary client-facing designer, the candidate will independently lead design discussions, conduct requirement discovery sessions, present and justify design decisions, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive alignment between clients and internal teams. Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and end-to-end product design experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Product Design
• Own the complete product design lifecycle, including requirement discovery, user research, problem definition, information architecture, user flows, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, usability testing, and design handoff.
• Translate business requirements, user needs, and product objectives into intuitive, scalable, and user-centric design solutions.
• Develop user journeys, task flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that address functional requirements and real-world user scenarios.
• Design complete product experiences, including loading, empty, error, success, validation, and permission-related states, ensuring that edge cases and exception scenarios are adequately addressed.
• Apply strong visual design principles, interaction patterns, responsive design practices, and usability standards to create consistent experiences across devices and platforms.
• Evaluate design alternatives and make informed decisions by considering usability, accessibility, business priorities, technical feasibility, and implementation constraints. 2. Client Engagement and Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary design point of contact for clients, leading discovery workshops, requirement discussions, design presentations, feedback sessions, and design reviews.
• Understand client objectives, user expectations, business workflows, and product constraints, translating them into clear design requirements and actionable deliverables.
• Present and justify design recommendations confidently, explaining the rationale behind design decisions using user needs, research findings, usability principles, accessibility standards, and business objectives.
• Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, clarify ambiguous requirements, address conflicting feedback, and negotiate design trade-offs while maintaining a user-centric approach.
• Ensure alignment between clients, product managers, business analysts, developers, and QA teams to establish clear design direction and agreed deliverables.
• Document design decisions, requirements, feedback, dependencies, and changes to maintain clarity throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Communicate design progress, risks, timelines, and dependencies effectively, ensuring that stakeholders remain aligned throughout the engagement. 3. User Research, Product Thinking, and Validation
• Conduct usability testing, competitor analysis,



and other appropriate research activities to understand user behaviour, identify pain points, and validate design assumptions.
• Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to distinguish underlying user problems from proposed feature requests.
• Convert research findings and business requirements into clear problem statements, user flows, design hypotheses, and practical product solutions.
• Prioritize design improvements based on user impact, business value, usability findings, technical feasibility, and product objectives.
• Use usability findings, user feedback, and available product analytics to evaluate design effectiveness and continuously improve product experiences.
• Validate proposed solutions through prototypes and usability testing before development, reducing ambiguity and avoidable rework. 4. Accessibility and WCAG Compliance
• Apply WCAG accessibility guidelines throughout the design process to create inclusive, accessible, and usable product experiences for people with diverse abilities.
• Demonstrate practical knowledge of WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria, or the applicable WCAG version and conformance level required by the product.
• Design interfaces with appropriate color contrast, readable typography, visible focus indicators, logical keyboard navigation, clear form labels, accessible error messages, and understandable interaction patterns.
• Consider screen-reader compatibility, semantic structure, alternative text, accessible component behaviour, and assistive technology requirements during design and specification.
• Identify potential accessibility barriers during design reviews and incorporate accessibility considerations into wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and final UI specifications.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to validate accessibility implementation, review identified issues, and support their resolution.
• Use relevant accessibility evaluation tools and manual testing methods to assess design accessibility and support conformance with applicable requirements. 5. Design Systems and UI/UX Execution
• Create and maintain beautiful and scalable design systems, reusable components, component variants, interaction patterns, and design guidelines to ensure consistency across product interfaces.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, components, variants, interactive prototyping, libraries, and design system management.
• Apply visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, layout, color theory, consistency, and interaction design principles to produce polished and functional interfaces.
• Design responsive experiences that adapt effectively to different screen sizes, devices, and usage contexts.
• Maintain consistency across screens and workflows while accommodating product-specific requirements and established design standards.
• Ensure that designs account for component states, content variations, usability considerations, and accessibility requirements. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Design Delivery
• Work closely with product managers, business analysts, developers, QA engineers,



and other stakeholders to ensure that design solutions align with product requirements and technical constraints.
• Prepare clear design specifications, annotations, interaction details, component behaviours, and developer handoff documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, refinement sessions, and implementation discussions as required.
• Review developed interfaces against approved designs and identify visual inconsistencies, usability issues, functional gaps, and accessibility concerns.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve implementation challenges while preserving the intended user experience and design quality.
• Manage multiple design tasks, prioritize deliverables, and maintain ownership of design quality and timelines throughout the development process. Required Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Product Design, UI/UX Design, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience owning the end-to-end product design lifecycle, from discovery and research through design validation, developer handoff, and implementation support.
• Strong understanding of product thinking, human-centred design, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and usability principles.
• Practical knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines, including the ability to apply relevant success criteria and identify accessibility issues in real-world interfaces.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to lead client meetings, conduct workshops, present design solutions, and explain design decisions clearly.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including expectation setting, feedback management, and cross-functional alignment.
• Proficiency in Figma, including wireframing, high-fidelity design, interactive prototyping, auto layout, reusable components, and design systems.
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and design validation.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements and user workflows into intuitive, practical, and scalable product experiences.
• Understanding of responsive design, component states, edge cases, accessibility considerations, and developer handoff requirements.
• Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, technical feasibility, accessibility standards, and delivery timelines when making design decisions.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and ownership of design deliverables.
• Ability to work independently in a client-facing role while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing enterprise applications, SaaS products, complex workflows, or data-intensive platforms.
• Familiarity with accessibility evaluation tools, assistive technologies, screen readers, and keyboard-only testing.
• Experience reviewing product analytics, interpreting user behaviour, and using measurable outcomes to guide design improvements.
• Familiarity with Agile and iterative product development methodologies.
• Understanding of frontend development concepts, including HTML and CSS, to support effective collaboration with engineering teams.
• Experience conducting A/B tests or evaluating alternative design approaches using quantitative or qualitative evidence.
• Experience working with distributed teams, multiple client stakeholders, or concurrent product design engagements.
