Role Description The Special Education Teacher will work full time on-site at VELS HOLISM REHABILITATION CENTRE in Chennai. This role involves planning and delivering individualized education programs for learners with a range of disabilities, adapting curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. The teacher will conduct assessments, monitor progress, maintain documentation, and collaborate with other professionals to support academic, social, and behavioral development. Daily tasks include classroom instruction, one-on-one and small group support, creating structured and engaging learning activities,



and implementing evidence-based special education strategies. The teacher will also communicate regularly with families and caregivers, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of disabilities and experience supporting learners with diverse needs.
• Demonstrated teaching skills with middle school–age learners or similar school-age groups.
• Formal training or hands-on experience in special education, including individualized education planning and classroom adaptations.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with learners, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Ability to manage classrooms, design structured learning activities, and maintain accurate records.
• Empathy, patience, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered practices.
• Relevant certifications or licenses in special education (where applicable) and willingness to participate in ongoing career development.
