ROLE
- Fashion Merchandiser – International Luxury Fashion Brands Role Overview The Fashion Merchandiser will be responsible for driving the merchandising strategy and commercial performance of international luxury fashion brands in India. The role will work closely with international brand principals and internal Buying, Retail, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations teams to ensure the right product assortment, inventory levels and commercial outcomes across stores and channels.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute brand-wise and category-wise merchandising strategies in line with the brand’s global positioning and India business objectives.
• Manage the Ready-to-Wear (RTW), accessories, footwear and other relevant fashion categories, ensuring an appropriate product mix for the Indian consumer.
• Work closely with international brand teams on seasonal collections, product selection, assortment planning and buying.
• Analyse historical sales, market trends, customer preferences and store performance to develop data-led buying and assortment plans.
• Prepare Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans, sales forecasts and inventory plans by brand, category, store and season.
• Drive SKU-level planning, including depth, option count, size curves, colour mix and product allocation.
• Ensure the right product mix by store and market, taking into consideration customer profile, store positioning and local demand.
• Monitor sales, sell-through, stock cover, inventory ageing, full-price sell-through and markdown performance.
• Identify bestsellers, slow movers and commercial opportunities, and recommend actions to optimise inventory and sales.
• Partner with Retail and Sales teams to improve productivity, conversion, ATV, UPT and overall sell-through.
• Coordinate with international brand principles on replenishment, reorders, product availability, seasonal launches and current collections.




• Support the planning and execution of new store openings and brand launches, including initial assortment and stock planning.
• Work closely with Marketing and Brand teams to align product launches, campaigns and commercial priorities.
• Track competitor activity, market trends and emerging consumer preferences within the luxury fashion landscape.
• Prepare regular merchandising and business performance reports for senior management and international brand partners.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams on budgeting, inventory investment, working capital and commercial performance.
• Ensure adherence to brand guidelines, global merchandising standards and local market requirements. Work Experience Required
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in fashion merchandising, buying or category management, preferably within premium or luxury fashion.
• Strong experience in Ready-to-Wear (RTW) merchandising is preferred, along with exposure to luxury accessories and other fashion categories.
• Experience working with international luxury fashion brands and/or global brand principles will be strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in assortment planning, buying, OTB management, forecasting and inventory planning.
• Strong understanding of luxury fashion consumers, seasonal collections, product lifecycle and retail dynamics.
• Experience managing multi-brand or multi-store environments is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate sales and inventory data into actionable merchandising decisions.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work effectively with international teams across different time zones and cultures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present commercial insights to senior stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and merchandising / business analytics tools.
• Bachelor’s / MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Fashion, Business, Retail, Merchandising or a related discipline preferred.
