The Tax Processing Specialist – Associate prepares and files US sales and use tax returns for level 1–2 clients, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. The role maintains client satisfaction through regular communication and supports senior team members on filings, payments and notices.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare an average of 600+ sales and use tax returns per month for level 1–2 clients.
- Review client tax data for accuracy and raise discrepancies for resolution.
- Build client relationships through regular, clear communication.
- Support senior Tax Processing Specialists with online filings and payments.
- Support senior Tax Processing Specialists in handling and tracking notices from tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for assigned clients.
- Take part in structured mentoring and begin peer support activities.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or business, or relevant experience in the same field.
- 2–5 years of related experience in tax compliance, preferably US sales and use tax.
- Familiarity with standard tax compliance regulations for level 1–2 clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Microsoft tools.
- Solid attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with indirect tax returns software.
- Tax-related certifications.
