Role Description This is a full time, on-site role for a Switchgear Estimation & Design Engineer based in Palghat. The role involves preparing technical and commercial estimates for LV and MV switchgear and related electrical systems, including reviewing inquiries, specifications, single-line diagrams, and tender documents. The engineer will design and size switchgear components, develop layouts and BOQs, and coordinate with internal teams and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and technical data.

Daily responsibilities include preparing proposals,



responding to technical clarifications, supporting project handover to execution teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client requirements. The role may also involve attending client meetings, providing pre-sales technical support, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimation and design processes.

Qualifications

- Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV switchgear, power distribution systems, and electrical protection schemes.
- Experience in estimation, tendering, and proposal preparation for electrical projects or switchgear systems.
- Proficiency in electrical design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, basic electrical calculation tools); familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel.
- Understanding of relevant electrical standards and codes (such as IEC or equivalent) and safety practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SLDs, specifications, and vendor datasheets.
- Effective communication and coordination skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior experience with industrial, commercial, or infrastructure electrical projects; experience with facility management or automation systems is an advantage.
