Overview

Cotiviti is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our India-based platform engineering team in building and operating a foundational enterprise platform across the organization. This role will own the delivery, quality, and production stability of high-traffic microservices built on Java, Python, React, OpenBao, Terraform, and AWS, while developing the team and partnering with global stakeholders to evolve the platform.

Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development
- Own end-to-end delivery of the platform roadmap, including planning, prioritization, estimation, and execution
- Guide the architecture and design of scalable, resilient microservices using Java (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway) and Python (FastAPI)
- Ensure platform services sustain large-scale traffic through sound concurrency handling, capacity planning, and performance engineering
- Oversee secrets management capabilities built on OpenBao, including secure secret vending, rotation, and access control
- Work closely with SRE team to manage infrastructure with codes on AWS
- Define and enforce application testing strategy across unit, integration, contract, performance, and end-to-end testing
- Own release management, including CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, release readiness, rollback, and change control
- Ensure production stability through observability, service level objectives, incident response, on-call practices, and post-incident reviews
- Conduct design and code reviews and uphold engineering standards for quality, security, and maintainability
- Ensure platform design and operations meet security, compliance, and governance requirements




- Coordinate with platform consumers, product owners, and global cross-functional teams on requirements, priorities, risks, and dependencies
- Lead feedback collection and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and team processes

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's preferred
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ years of managing or 2+ years of leading engineering teams
- Proven production experience building, delivering, and operating secure software systems that handle large-scale traffic
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with working knowledge of Python (FastAPI)
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API design, resilience patterns, and distributed systems
- In-depth knowledge of concurrency handling and performance tuning in high-throughput systems
- Strong experience defining application testing strategy and test automation across unit, integration, contract, performance, and end-to-end levels
- In-depth experience with release management, CI/CD pipelines, and safe deployment strategies such as blue/green and canary releases
- Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Understanding of secrets management, authentication, and authorization practices;

experience with OpenBao or HashiCorp Vault preferred

- Experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and monitoring and observability systems
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and manage the performance of engineers
- Excellent project management and communication skills, with ability to work across global, cross-functional teams
- Experience with healthcare or regulated enterprise software preferred; familiarity with MLOps platforms is a plus
