About My Design MindsMy Design Minds is a product design and engineering solutions company specializing in industrial design, mechanical CAD, product development, prototyping, electronics integration and manufacturing support.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can independently handle mechanical/product design projects from concept development through detailed CAD, prototyping and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead mechanical and product design projects from concept to final manufacturing.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and production-ready designs using SolidWorks.
- Create accurate 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T;, tolerances, fits and appropriate engineering standards.
- Review designs for functionality, manufacturability, strength and assembly.
- Develop sheet metal, plastic, machined and fabricated components.
- Perform assembly design, interference checks and design validation.
- Prepare BOMs, engineering documentation and design revisions.
- Work closely with clients to understand technical requirements and convert them into engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with prototyping, machining, fabrication and manufacturing vendors.
- Support prototype development and resolve manufacturing/design issues.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Review and improve existing designs for cost, performance and manufacturability.




- Ensure project deliverables meet agreed technical requirements and timelines.

Required SkillsCore Requirement – SolidWorks & Mechanical Design
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Part, Assembly and Drawing.
- Advanced 3D modelling and complex assembly experience.
- Strong understanding of sketching, configurations, design tables and design intent.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Robust knowledge of GD&T;, fits, tolerances and engineering drawings.
- Ability to design components considering actual manufacturing constraints.
- Strong DFM/DFA understanding.

Manufacturing KnowledgePractical understanding of:
- CNC machining
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Injection moulding
- 3D printing
- Welding and fabrication
- Fasteners and mechanical assemblies
- Materials and manufacturing processes
- Surface finishing and basic production processes

Additional Skills – Preferred
- Surface modelling

- Basic FEA understanding

Candidate ProfileWe are looking for an engineer who can take ownership of a design rather than simply create CAD models.



The ideal candidate should be able to understand a client's requirement, develop the engineering concept, create the CAD model, identify manufacturing challenges, coordinate prototyping and deliver a production-ready solution.

Strong problem-solving, technical communication and decision-making skills are essential.

Leadership Responsibilities

- Guide junior mechanical designers and engineers.
- Review CAD models and engineering drawings before client delivery.
- Establish modelling and drawing standards within the team.
- Support project managers in technical planning and estimation.
- Identify technical risks early and propose practical solutions.
- Help build and improve internal design processes and SOPs.

Eligibility
- B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of relevant mechanical/product design experience.
- Strong SolidWorks portfolio and practical project experience preferred.
- Experience in industrial/product design, engineering services or manufacturing is highly preferred.
