Role Description The Registered Pharmacist will work full time on-site at Sahakar Medicals & Surgicals in Tirur, overseeing the protected dispensing of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness, counseling patients on correct medication use, possible side effects, and interactions, and maintaining precise records in line with regulatory requirements. The role involves managing inventory of medicines and surgical items, monitoring stock levels and expiry dates, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure availability of essential products.

The pharmacist will verify prescriptions against patient histories when available, support basic health advice within scope of practice,



and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for clarification or dosage adjustments. Additional tasks include ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and standards, implementing safety protocols, supporting quality control processes, and contributing to a respectful, service-oriented environment for all patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

- Valid registration as a Pharmacist with the appropriate state or national pharmacy council and eligibility to practice in Tirur.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D); advanced pharmacy certifications are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and prescription verification in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Experience with pharmacy operations, including inventory management, billing processes, and use of pharmacy or healthcare management software.
- Ability to provide clear, empathetic patient counseling on medication use, side effects, storage, and adherence, with attention to patient privacy.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards related to controlled substances, record keeping, and pharmacy audits.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability in handling prescriptions, and commitment to ethical and non-discriminatory patient care.
- Willingness to work full time on-site in Tirur, including weekends or extended hours as required by pharmacy operations.
