Role Summary

We are looking for a design-oriented Assistant Manager – Retail Design to lead retail store design development, technical detailing, and design standardization across our expanding store network. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in retail space planning, interior design, fixture development, material selection, and technical drawings, along with the ability to translate creative concepts into practical, commercially viable designs.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead design development for new retail stores, renovations, and expansion projects in line with brand guidelines.
- Develop and review store layouts, space plans, elevations, sections, ceiling plans, and technical drawings.
- Design and detail retail fixtures, display units, cash counters, trial rooms, shopfronts, and other interior elements.
- Review AutoCAD drawings, fabrication details, material specifications, and BOQs for accuracy and feasibility.
- Drive material and finish selection, fixture development, and design standardization across store locations.
- Collaborate with project execution teams, architects, consultants, vendors,



and contractors to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Conduct site visits to review design implementation, resolve design-related challenges, and identify deviations.
- Coordinate with vendors and fabricators on samples, technical specifications, costing, and fabrication requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of design drawings, documentation, revisions, and other project deliverables.
- Manage multiple store design projects while aligning design requirements with budgets, timelines, and execution feasibility.
- Identify opportunities to improve store layouts, fixtures, materials, and design processes.
- Develop scalable design solutions that maintain consistency across The Souled Store’s retail network.

Qualifications & Skills

- 5+ years of experience in retail design, interior design, architecture, or commercial interior projects.
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, Photoshop, or similar design tools is preferred.
- Proven experience in retail store planning, design development, technical detailing, and interior fit-outs.
- Strong understanding of retail fixtures, materials, finishes, fabrication techniques, and construction processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOQs.
- Experience working with architects, vendors, fabricators, contractors, and project execution teams.
- Understanding of material costing, budgeting, and commercially viable design solutions.
- Strong project coordination, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
- Experience with fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or organized retail brands will be preferred.
