Role summary:

The MEP Engineer owns the laying, testing and commissioning of all underground piping networks on site: sewer, storm water, DI water supply and PN10 flushing lines, with their fittings.

Key responsibilities:

- Plan and execute laying of sewer lines (DWC/HDPE/RCC/stoneware as specified), including excavation, bedding, PCC, haunching, chambers, manholes and plot connections.
- Execute storm water lines, catch basins, chambers and outfall connections to drawing levels and gradients.
- Execute DI (ductile iron) water supply lines: push-on/flanged jointing, thrust blocks, valves, air valves, scour valves and house connections.
- Execute PN10 flushing lines (HDPE/uPVC) including butt-fusion/electrofusion or solvent jointing, valves and specials.
- Select, check and approve fittings for all lines: bends, tees, reducers, collars, flanges, valves, gaskets, saddles and couplers.
- Conduct and document testing: hydrostatic pressure tests for DI and PN10 lines, leakage/water tests and smoke or air tests for gravity sewers, and mandrel/CCTV checks where required.
- Lead flushing, disinfection and commissioning of water lines, and hand over with test reports and as-built drawings.
- Verify invert levels,



slopes and alignment with the surveyor before and after laying.
- Prepare daily progress reports, BOQ quantity tracking, measurement sheets and subcontractor bills.
- Coordinate road crossings, existing utilities and interfaces with civil and road works teams.
- Plan material requirements, check incoming pipes and fittings against IS specs, and control wastage.
- Supervise vendors and labour gangs and enforce safety in trenches (shoring, barricading, dewatering). Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- 8+ years in external services / public health engineering on townships, plotted developments, highways or municipal projects.
- Hands-on knowledge of relevant IS codes and CPHEEO manual practices for sewerage and water supply.
- Able to read drawings, longitudinal sections and hydraulic profiles; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel.
- Experience handling labour contractors and preparing bills.
