Position: Junior Associate (Civil Litigation)

Bhattacharjee Law Chambers is looking for a Junior Associate with a civil litigation background to handle day to day court and chamber work. The role suits candidates who have a grounding in trial court practice and want to build a long term litigation career.

Experience: 1 to 2 years PQE

Job Responsibilities:

1. Drafting and vetting pleadings and legal documents, including plaints, written statements, interlocutory applications, affidavits, counters, caveats, execution petitions, memos, legal notices and correspondence.
2. Handling physical filing and e filing, curing registry objections, and attending to numbering, listing and service of process.
3. Making regular appearances before the City Civil Court, Hyderabad, the Courts at Secunderabad and Malkajgiri, the Family Court and the Ranga Reddy District Courts for filing, mentioning, interim applications and hearings.
4. Assisting in trial work, including chief examination affidavits, marking of documents,



cross examination and written arguments.
5. Conducting legal research on procedural and substantive law and preparing research notes, case briefs and lists of dates.
6. Coordinating with court staff, registry officials, clerks and opposing counsel for filings, compliances and effective case management.
7. Tracking cause lists and case status, maintaining case files and obtaining certified copies within timelines.
8. Assisting in client interactions, follow ups and conferences, as required.

Qualifications:

BA LL.B / BBA LL.B / B.Com LL.B / LL.B or an equivalent law degree from a recognised institution, with enrolment with a State Bar Council. Working knowledge of Telugu is preferred.
