Jivya Enterprises LLP is a sister concern of Lathia Rubber Manufacturing Co. Pvt. Ltd., a 70-year-old rubber products manufacturer with five plants serving the paper, textile and steel industries. Jivya is building a new plant in Vapi, Gujarat, to make a specific rubber product for the textile industry, using proven technology from an international partner. The process is new to India.

The role

We need a Maintenance Head to look after all machines, utilities and equipment in the plant. You will support machine installation and commissioning during setup. After that, your job is to keep the machines running with as few breakdowns as possible. We want maintenance to run as a planned system, with schedules and records, not just fixing things after they fail.

What you will do

- Rubber machines: maintain mixers, calenders, curing presses and belt handling equipment.
- Grinding machines: maintain and set the grinding machines used for belt finishing, and keep surface finish and thickness within spec.
- Lathe and machining: maintain the lathe and machining equipment for in-house spares, tooling, shafts and rollers.
- Utilities: manage boilers, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water systems and electrical distribution.
- Controls: work with PLC, CNC and SCADA systems, and brief vendors clearly on control and instrument faults.
- Preventive maintenance: build and run a schedule for every machine, and report each month on how well it was followed.
- SOPs and checklists: write daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance SOPs and checklists for each machine.
- Spares: keep a critical spares stock with minimum levels, so production never stops waiting for a part. Work with Stores on ordering, receiving and issuing spares, and run regular physical stock checks.
- Machine history:



keep a record for every machine of breakdowns, causes, actions taken, spares used and downtime.
- Repeat breakdowns: find the root cause of repeat breakdowns and fix them.
- Coordination: plan shutdowns with the production team, and manage vendors on warranty, AMC and service visits.
- Training: train operators on basic machine care, secure operation and spotting faults early.
- Drawings and planning: keep machine drawings, layouts and manuals organised and easy to find, and read and mark up CAD drawings. Prepare the annual maintenance, spares and equipment budget.

What you bring

- Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 9–12 years in maintenance in a rubber processing or similar process plant.
- Rubber machinery: hands-on experience maintaining rubber processing machinery specifically, not just general engineering equipment. You know its wear patterns and common failures.
- Mechanical fundamentals: alignment, bearings, gearboxes, drives, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Electrical and electronics: enough understanding of drives, sensors, panels and control circuits to diagnose a fault and brief a vendor precisely.
- Controls: experience with PLC, CNC and SCADA systems.
- Conduct: clear, professional communication and conduct.
