Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned, passionate, and leadership-oriented Head Barista with a minimum of 5 years of hands-

on specialty coffee experience to lead our coffee and beverage department at Mira’s. The Head Barista will take full ownership of the coffee program, oversee espresso and manual brewing consistency, calibrate machinery,

drive seasonal beverage menu development, and mentor junior baristas to deliver an unmatched coffee experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Coffee Program Leadership & Quality Control:

 Oversee end-to-end coffee bar operations, ensuring world-class extraction, brew recipes, and beverage consistency across all shifts.

 Calibrate and dial in espresso grinders daily based on ambient temperature, humidity, bean origin, and roast profiles.

 Maintain perfection in milk texturing, micro-foam density, temperature standards, and intricate free-pour latte art.

 Standardize manual pour-over brewing recipes (V60, Aeropress, French Press) and cold brew extractions.

- Menu Development & Beverage Innovation:

 Conceptualize and introduce innovative seasonal coffee beverages, signature iced coolers, craft syrups, and specialty tea infusions.

 Curate beverage pairings to complement Mira’s signature artisanal baked goods, viennoiserie, and pastries.

 Create standardized recipe cards,



portion control guides, and visual presentation standards for the entire beverage menu.

- Equipment Upkeep & Bar Maintenance:

 Supervise the daily calibration, maintenance, backflushing, and deep sanitization of commercial espresso machines,

grinders, and water filtration setups.

 Establish and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for all coffee equipment to avoid operational downtimes.

 Enforce strict bar hygiene, food safety compliance, clean workstation discipline, and opening/closing bar checklists.

- Team Training, Inventory & Cost Management:

 Conduct structured training sessions for baristas and service staff on coffee theory, extraction science, sensory tasting, and latte art techniques.

 Manage indenting, stock replenishment, and wastage tracking for coffee beans, dairy, plant-based milks, syrups,

and packaging disposables.

 Track pouring costs, yield efficiency, and implement portion controls to minimize waste and optimize profitability.

 Engage guests passionately at the counter, explaining coffee bean origins, flavor notes, and roast profiles.

Mira’s Bakery & Café – Head Barista

Qualifications & Skills:

 Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in specialty coffee roasteries, cafés, or premium casual dining establishments.





 Proven background of at least 1–2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity (Head Barista, Coffee Lead, or Bar

Supervisor).

 Deep expertise in espresso extraction science, brew ratios, TDS evaluation, grinder burr calibration, and cupping protocols.

 Mastery of milk steaming, texturing, and advanced free-pour latte art (rosettas, swans, winged tulips).

 Comprehensive knowledge of commercial espresso machines (e.g., La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Sanremo) and precision grinders (Mahlkönig, Mythos, Fiorenzato).

 Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills in English and Hindi to coach and manage a bar team.

 High personal grooming standards, guest-centric attitude, and stamina to lead during peak operational rush hours.

 Willingness to work operational shifts, weekends, and festival holidays.

 Budgeted Salary: ₹28,000 – ₹35,000 per month (commensurate with expertise, coffee credentials, and leadership capability).
