About LES

Established in 1986, LES is the social outreach wing of Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram. It promotes inclusive and sustainable communities through counselling, training, research, and community development, guided by human dignity and social justice.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain the 11 kV substation, unitized substation (USS), diesel generator (DG) set, and LT electrical systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair wiring, panels, lighting, and electrical equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, maintain operating records, and follow electrical safety procedures.
- Coordinate repairs and servicing with staff and contractors.
- Assist with LES administration, including facility coordination,



record keeping, logistics, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Skills

- Diploma in Electrical Engineering with three years’ relevant experience, or ITI Wireman Certificate with six years’ relevant experience.
- Practical experience in operating and maintaining 11 kV substations, USS, and DG sets**.
- Relevant competency certificates, permits, or licences required for the duties.
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, diagnose faults, and work safely.
- Good communication and coordination skills, willingness to travel locally, and commitment to LES’s values.
