Swan Defence and Heavy Industries is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to lead ship construction and repair operations at our Pipavav shipyard.

If you have extensive experience in shipbuilding, heavy engineering, and large-scale project execution, this is an opportunity to take on a leadership role and contribute to complex shipyard operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage end-to-end ship construction and repair operations, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution.
- Develop and monitor construction schedules, milestones, and KPIs related to productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Oversee hull erection, block integration, outfitting, dry dock/hardstand activities, and vessel commissioning.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Stores, Quality, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with shipbuilding standards, classification society requirements, and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Optimize workforce utilization,



including in-house teams and subcontractors, while driving productivity and capability development.
- Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture and continuous improvement through process optimization, digitalization, and contemporary shipyard practices.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Marine Engineering.
- Master’s degree in Engineering Management or an MBA preferred.
- Minimum 18+ years of experience in shipbuilding or heavy engineering.
- At least 3–5 years in a leadership role overseeing multidisciplinary engineering or production operations.
- Experience managing complex projects with significant technical and financial responsibilities.
- Certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma, and knowledge of Lean practices, will be an added advantage.
