Role Description This full-time, on-site Buyer role at Mujeres en Trayectoria Empresarial is based in Chennai. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing materials and products, evaluating suppliers, and negotiating pricing and contract terms to support operational and project needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, maintaining accurate procurement records, and coordinating with internal teams to understand demand and specifications.

The role involves monitoring inventory levels, analyzing market trends and cost data, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and quality standards. The Buyer will also help improve procurement processes, contribute to vendor performance reviews, and support budgeting and cost-optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in purchasing or procurement, including vendor sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.




- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple purchase requests and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, and logistics.
- Proficiency in using procurement or ERP systems, spreadsheets, and standard office software.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and basic budgeting or cost-control practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in an in office procurement role and familiarity with local suppliers in or around Chennai is an advantage.
