Role Description The Branch Manager – Microfinance (Tata Capital) will lead the microfinance branch operations in Gorakhpur in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role involves overseeing daily branch activities, guiding field and branch staff, and ensuring all customer interactions meet company standards and regulatory requirements.

The Branch

Manager will be responsible for growing the microfinance portfolio through customer acquisition, relationship management, and community outreach, while maintaining portfolio quality and controlling delinquency.

Key responsibilities include monitoring loan processing and disbursement, tracking collections, reviewing branch performance metrics, and implementing process improvements.



The role also requires coaching team members, coordinating with regional and central teams, and ensuring adherence to compliance, risk, and audit guidelines.

Qualifications

- Strong branch operations and team leadership capabilities, including experience managing targets, performance metrics, and branch profitability.
- Microfinance or retail lending experience, with familiarity in customer assessment, loan disbursement, collections, and portfolio management.
- Sound understanding of financial products and processes, particularly in lending, credit, and risk management within a regulated setting.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for working with customers, local communities, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, reporting tools, and data analysis to track branch performance and prepare management reports.
- Ability to work on-site in Gorakhpur, travel locally for field visits, and engage with customers in semi-urban and rural areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field; postgraduate qualification or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Demonstrated integrity, customer-centric mindset, and alignment with Tata Group values; prior experience in NBFCs, microfinance institutions, or banks is preferred.
