WE Media is a full-service creative agency from the House of Lingo, that believes great communication goes beyond what a brand says. It is about what a brand makes people feel.
We bring together strategy, storytelling, design, film, digital, and experiences to create communication that captures attention, builds desire, and gives brands a distinctive point of view.
As we continue to build work for ambitious brands across categories, we are looking for an Art Director who can transform ideas into compelling visual narratives; someone who understands that every frame, colour, composition, texture, and detail has a role to play in telling a brand’s story.
Role
We are looking for an Art Director who sees visual communication as a storytelling discipline, not merely an exercise in aesthetics.
Someone who can take a brief, uncover the thought at its heart, and translate it into a powerful visual language across campaigns, films, digital platforms, print, outdoor, social media, and brand experiences.
You should have a strong creative point of view, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to build visual worlds that are both distinctive and strategically relevant.
Experience working with luxury or premium brands particularly in jewellery, fashion and clothing, hospitality, lifestyle, or other high-involvement consumer categories — will be a strong advantage. We value an understanding of how to communicate craftsmanship, exclusivity, heritage, aspiration, and desire without resorting to visual clichés.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who can think, conceptualise, craft, and execute.
Your Role
1. Conceptualisation & Visual Storytelling
- Translate creative briefs and brand strategies into original visual concepts and compelling creative ideas.
- Develop visual narratives that communicate a brand's personality, proposition, and emotional appeal.
- Build campaign concepts that connect a strong central idea with thoughtful visual execution.
- Bring fresh perspectives to briefs, challenge conventional thinking, and explore unexpected creative territories.
- Ensure that every visual choice contributes to the larger story rather than serving as decoration.
2. Art Direction & Creative Development
- Lead the visual development of integrated campaigns across digital, print, film, outdoor, social media, and experiential platforms.
- Develop mood boards, visual references, art direction decks, storyboards, shot breakdowns, and campaign layouts.
- Establish a coherent visual language across campaign assets while adapting the idea to the requirements of each medium.
- Guide photography, film, styling, casting, set design,
lighting, composition, colour grading, and post-production.
- Maintain a high standard of visual craft, ensuring that the final output is as compelling as the original concept.
3. Luxury & Premium Brand Communication
- Develop visual communication that reflects the nuances of premium and luxury positioning.
- Understand how materials, textures, lighting, negative space, typography, composition, and restraint influence perceptions of quality and desirability.
- Translate the stories behind craftsmanship, provenance, heritage, design, and product excellence into engaging visual narratives.
- Create aspirational imagery without compromising authenticity or product appeal.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the distinct visual codes of jewellery, fashion, hospitality, lifestyle, and other premium categories.
4. Campaigns Across Multiple Touchpoints
- Art-direct campaigns from the initial concept through to final execution.
- Ensure consistency and quality across print advertisements, outdoor campaigns, digital films, social media content, websites, retail communication, and brand collateral.
- Adapt visual ideas intelligently for different formats, audiences, and platforms.
- Collaborate with copywriters, strategists, designers, filmmakers, photographers, editors, and production teams to bring ideas to life.
5. Collaboration & Creative Leadership
- Work closely with the creative and strategy teams to develop ideas that are both visually distinctive and grounded in the brief.
- Present and articulate creative concepts confidently to internal teams and clients.
- Provide clear visual direction and constructive feedback to designers, photographers, editors, and other creative collaborators.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining creative quality and meeting deadlines.
- Take ownership of projects from concept development to final delivery.
6. Design Craft & Emerging Creative Tools
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of typography, layout, colour theory, composition, image-making, and visual hierarchy.
- Be proficient in relevant creative tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; familiarity with Premiere Pro or After Effects is an advantage.
- Use AI-assisted creative tools intelligently for visual exploration, mood boarding, concept development, and pre-visualisation.
- Stay curious about emerging visual trends, filmmaking techniques, design movements, and evolving approaches to brand communication.
What does an Ideal Candidate look like :
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in advertising, branding, creative agencies, design studios, or integrated communication.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, and exceptional art direction.
- Experience with luxury or premium brands in jewellery, apparel, fashion, hospitality, lifestyle, or related categories is preferred.
- The ability to interpret a brief, identify the core communication challenge, and develop an original visual solution.
- A sophisticated understanding of aesthetics, composition, typography, lighting, colour, and visual culture.
- The ability to move comfortably between big campaign ideas and the smallest details of execution.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain the thinking behind creative decisions.
- A collaborative mindset, ownership of work, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a rapid-paced agency environment.
- A willingness to experiment, challenge conventions, and continuously raise the standard of creative output.
We would particularly love to meet you if:
- You can tell a compelling story through a single frame, a series of images, or a complete campaign.
- You understand the difference between making something look beautiful and making it communicate meaningfully.
- You know how to make a product the hero without making the communication feel predictable.
- You appreciate the subtleties of luxury — the value of restraint, the power of detail, and the importance of authenticity.
- You can translate abstract ideas into clear, executable visual directions.
- You have a strong visual point of view but remain open to collaboration and critique.
- You are equally comfortable building a mood board, presenting a campaign idea, directing a shoot, and refining the final artwork.
What we offer
- The opportunity to work on diverse brands, categories, and creative challenges.
- The freedom to explore ideas, experiment with visual storytelling, and push creative boundaries.
- Direct involvement in campaigns from the first thought to the final output.
- An environment that values original thinking, thoughtful craft, and attention to detail.
- The prospect to contribute to the growth of a creative agency that believes in making communication more meaningful and memorable.
