Sr Manager/ General Manager - Projects (Planning & Execution)

Location: Pune / India (Multi-site & pan-India projects)

Reporting to: Director / MD

Team Size: ~100 Engineers (Project Managers, Site Engineers, Planning, Commissioning)

Role Objective

To plan, execute, and deliver all customer projects with predictable timelines, controlled cost, uncompromised

safety, and zero-surprise governance, while building a scalable, disciplined, and motivated execution

organization.

- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Site Execution & Commissioning
- Resource Planning & Deployment
- Customer Interface (Execution phase)
- Project Cost Control
- Safety & Compliance
- Capability building of project organization

Key Responsibilities

A. Project Planning & Governance

- Establish end-to-end project planning framework (from order handover to final acceptance)
- Ensure realistic schedules aligned with engineering, procurement, and site readiness
- Drive weekly project reviews using RAG methodology
- Maintain early-warning system for delays, cost overruns, and risks

B. Execution Excellence

- Ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery across projects

- Control:

- Schedule adherence

- Cost variance

- Doing extra work that was never agreed, without extra approval. should be ZERO

- Own shipping discipline, site readiness, and commissioning outcomes

- Ensure first-time acceptance at FAT / SAT

C. Team Leadership (100+ Engineers)





- Build a layered leadership structure (Project Heads, PMs, Leads)

- Enforce:

- Leave discipline

- Deployment discipline

- Backup & continuity planning

- Drive:

- Skill development

- Safety culture

- Performance accountability

- Reduce execution-driven attrition

D. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with:

- Engineering (design freeze & ECO control)

- Purchase (material readiness & lead times)

- Operations (manufacturing & dispatch)

- Finance (billing milestones & cash flow)

- Act as single execution voice to customers

E. Customer & Risk Management

- Own execution-phase customer communication

- Proactively escalate:

- Schedule risks

- Scope ambiguities

- Commercial exposures

- Prevent last-minute surprises

F. Process, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to:

- Project SOPs

- Safety standards

- ISO 9001 processes

- Drive continuous improvement via:

- Post-project reviews

- Lessons-learned documentation

Qualification & Experience

- BE / BTech (Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation)

- Post-graduate qualification in Project Management (desirable)

- 15-22 years of experience in:

- Automation / EPC / System Integration

- Large multi-site project execution

- Proven experience managing 50-150 engineers

Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹1,900,000.00 per year
