**Job title: Assistant Manager

- Mechanical Design**

Position Summary: Experienced Mechanical Design Manager to lead and mentor a team of engineers in designing high

- quality jigs, fixtures, special purpose machines (SPM), machined parts, material handling equipment,

and complex pneumatic and hydraulic systems. This role combines hands-on design expertise with

strategic leadership, project management, and technical guidance to ensure that all projects meet

quality, cost, and timeline requirements. Should also work on standardization of designs for future

reference.

Duties & responsibilities: Team Leadership & Mentorship:

- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 5 mechanical design engineers, providing guidance

and support to foster professional growth.

- Oversee daily team activities, set clear objectives, and conduct regular performance

evaluations to ensure team members meet project and organizational goals.

- Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging creativity and

continuous improvement.

Project Management & Execution:

- Lead the design and development of jigs, fixtures, SPMs, machined parts, material handling

devices, and complex pneumatic and hydraulic systems to meet client and industry

specifications.

- Plan and prioritize design projects, ensuring efficient use of resources, adherence to project

schedules, and meeting of budgetary constraints.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and procurement, to

ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and manufacturable.

Technical Oversight & Design Validation:

- Review and approve design concepts, 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering





documentation to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with design standards.

- Conduct design reviews, feasibility analyses, and FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to

validate and improve designs.

- Support the team in troubleshooting design challenges and provide solutions for complex

technical issues.

Process Improvement & Innovation:

- Identify and implement best practices for mechanical design processes, promoting efficiency,

quality, and cost reduction.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to enhance

design capabilities.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, focusing on innovative solutions

and the adoption of advanced design methodologies.

Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Act as a primary technical point of contact with clients and stakeholders, presenting design

concepts, discussing technical requirements, and gathering feedback to refine solutions.

- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing client needs promptly, managing project

expectations, and delivering high-quality design solutions.

Reporting & Documentation:

- Prepare regular project status reports, design metrics, and technical documentation for senior

management review.

- Ensure accurate records of design activities, project timelines, and engineering specifications

are maintained for reference and auditing.

Technical Skills:

1. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for advanced 3D modeling

and 2D drafting.

1. Solid knowledge of design standards, material selection, manufacturing processes, and

engineering principles related to pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Project Management Skills:

1. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and ensure successful

delivery within timelines and budgets.

Communication Skills:

1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross

- functional teams, stakeholders, and clients.

- Ability to present technical information clearly and confidently to both technical and non

- technical audiences.

Problem-Solving Ability:

1. Proven problem-solving and analytical skills to guide the team in resolving design and

engineering challenges.

- Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and simulation tools for design optimization.
- Experience with ISO and ASME standards relevant to mechanical design.
- PMP or relevant project management certification is a plus.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
