10+ Remote Contractual Position Overview We are seeking an experienced MuleSoft Developer to support enterprise integration and system modernization initiatives under the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) engagement (RFO# ISD26-4707). In this role, you will design, develop, test, and deploy API-led connectivity solutions and microservices that integrate legacy core systems with modern application stacks. *

key responsibilities
* Integration Architecture & Development Design and implement API-led connectivity architectures (System, Process, and Experience APIs) using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule Runtime 4.x). Develop robust, scalable APIs and integration flows using Anypoint Studio, DataWeave 2.0, RAML, and OAS specifications. Configure and manage APIs within Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, API Exchange, and Access Management. Connect distributed systems, enterprise databases, cloud platforms, and third-party SaaS applications. System Customization & Testing Build and execute complex data transformations, custom error-handling frameworks, routing rules, and transactional compensation mechanisms. Author automated unit and integration tests using MUnit to achieve high code coverage,



ensuring zero-defect deliverables. Perform end-to-end integration testing, system integration testing (SIT), and support user acceptance testing (UAT). Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, payload size constraints, and connection pooling issues. Modern Application Stack Integration Interface MuleSoft APIs with up-to-date application stacks, event streaming platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Anypoint MQ), containerized services, and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure). Implement standard security protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT validation, mutual TLS (mTLS), and API rate limiting/throttling policies. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate Mulesoft build/deployment pipelines via Maven, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI/CD. Compliance, Documentation & Client Delivery Maintain detailed technical design documents (TDD), interface control documents (ICD), and API catalogs. Support compliance reviews, architectural governance checkpoints, and audit logging mandates. Provide client references and non-overlapping project duration logs for proposal compliance and post-award delivery.
