• About The Tann Mann Foundation & "Wellness on Wheels" The Tann Mann Gaadi is a non-profit trust dedicated to addressing open defecation and improving public health through “Wellness on Wheels”—a mobile sanitation initiative. We combine technology, eco-friendly practices, and social responsibility to create practical solutions for communities in need. We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on volunteer who wants to leverage their technical expertise to lead a team and drive meaningful social impact. Role Overview As the Senior Lead Backend Engineer, you will lead a dedicated team of volunteer engineers to build and maintain the tech infrastructure supporting our mission. You will play a crucial role in working on a fundraising project for The Tann Mann Foundation, utilizing FastAPI for the backend and React.js for the frontend.



What You Will Do:
• Architect & Build: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and modular FastAPI endpoints.
• Lead & Collaborate: Guide and mentor a team of volunteer engineers through code reviews, technical strategy, and architectural decisions.
• Integrate: Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and explore integrations with embedded systems/IoT devices.
• Troubleshoot: Debug performance, reliability, and integration issues across development and production environments.
• Document: Maintain clear documentation and foster strong cooperative practices across a remote, multi-functional team.
• What We Are Looking For
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills (Mandatory) to collaborate with our global team and run team meetings.
• 5–30 years of hands-on experience in backend software development using Python and FastAPI (or similar Python frameworks).
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modular code architecture.
• Strong background in RESTful API design, JSON, Git, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed or microservice-based setups.
• Prior exposure to embedded systems, IoT integration, or hardware connectivity is a plus.
• Prior experience or strong interest in non-profits, public health, or social impact tech.
