AIC–CIIC, Vandalur, Chennai Employment Type: Full-time 1. Role PurposeTo develop and strengthen AIC–CIIC’s startup incubation ecosystem and drive industry engagement, outreach, and utilization of its Smart and Clean Mobility laboratories. The position will be responsible for identifying and engaging startups, connecting them with technical and business support, promoting laboratory services to industry and academia, and building partnerships that generate measurable incubation outcomes and sustainable lab utilization. 2.

Key Responsibilities
A. Startup Incubation & Programme Management
• Identify, source, and engage prospective startups in smart mobility, electric mobility, renewable energy, battery technologies, automotive electronics, green chemistry, recycling, and allied deep-tech sectors.
• Coordinate startup applications, screening, evaluation, onboarding, incubation agreements, and milestone tracking.
• Support the implementation of incubation, pre-incubation, accelerator, and entrepreneurship development programmes.
• Coordinate startup mentoring, investor interactions, industry connects, workshops, demo days, and networking sessions.
• Track startup progress, including technology development, prototype readiness, pilots, revenue, funding, jobs created, and graduation.
• Maintain startup databases, incubation records, programme calendars, reports, and impact metrics. B. Smart and Clean Mobility Labs Outreach
• Promote AIC–CIIC laboratory capabilities to automotive OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, EV manufacturers, component developers, engineering service companies, research institutions, and startups.
• Develop business leads for laboratory services,



technical validation, prototyping, simulation, testing, and engineering support.
• Coordinate outreach for available facilities, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), battery testing and validation, EMI/EMC, chassis dynamometer, simulation, and other approved lab services.
• Understand customer requirements and coordinate with technical teams to prepare suitable service proposals, quotations, and project scopes.
• Follow up on leads, coordinate lab visits and technical discussions, and support conversion of enquiries into approved service engagements.
• Maintain a laboratory outreach pipeline, service enquiries, utilization records, customer feedback, and revenue-generation reports.
• Coordinate with technical personnel to ensure customer requirements are aligned with available equipment, capacity, safety procedures, and technical capabilities. C. Industry Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
• Build relationships with automotive and mobility OEMs, component manufacturers, EV startups, technology providers, industry associations, academic institutions, and government-supported innovation programmes.
• Identify opportunities for MoUs, joint workshops, sponsored programmes, industry challenges, pilot projects, and collaborative R&D.;
• Coordinate with industry partners to identify technical problems that can be addressed by AIC–CIIC incubatees and laboratory facilities.
• Facilitate connections between startups and potential customers, mentors, technical experts, investors, and strategic partners.
• Support industry visits, delegation meetings,



partnership proposals, and follow-up actions. D. Programme Outreach & Communications
• Plan and execute startup outreach campaigns, industry engagement programmes, technical workshops, hackathons, accelerator activities, and demo days.
• Prepare presentations, outreach emails, brochures, service catalogues, event reports, and programme updates.
• Coordinate with the communications team for website updates, LinkedIn posts, startup showcases, and announcements.
• Represent AIC–CIIC at relevant industry events, startup forums, academic institutions, and networking programmes. E. Reporting & Administration
• Maintain an updated CRM or structured database of startups, prospects, partners, mentors, and lab-service customers.
• Prepare monthly reports on startup pipeline, incubation progress, outreach activities, lab enquiries, conversions, utilization, and partnerships.
• Track follow-up commitments, programme budgets, service proposals, and deliverables.
• Ensure documentation and reporting comply with AIC–CIIC policies, funding-agency requirements, and management directions. 3. Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification in management, innovation, technology commercialization, or a related field is desirable.
• Approximately 2–5 years of experience in startup incubation, business development, industry relations, technical sales, laboratory services, or innovation programmes.
• Experience in the automotive, EV, clean energy, electronics, battery, or deep-tech ecosystem is preferred.
• Solid communication, presentation, relationship management, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, presentations, CRM tools, and basic project management.
