Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to own product quality across our orthopedic surgical instrument manufacturing business. In this role, you will drive first-pass yield up and customer rejects down. You will lead root cause investigations, close the gap between our inspection results and our customers' incoming inspection, and work closely with our manufacturing partners to raise the quality of the parts we receive from them.

Key Responsibilities:

· Candidates should possess skills in Supplier Evaluation and Supplier Quality to assess and qualify manufacturing partners.

· Supplier quality: Own incoming inspection of partner shipments; qualify and audit machining and finishing partners, run first article inspections, verify material certifications (ASTM F899, A564) and manage supplier corrective actions.

· Partner process control: Get control plans, PFMEA, in-process checks and SPC in place at partner sites for critical features, so defects are caught at the source.

· Reduce rejects and improve yield: Track first-pass yield, scrap, rework and customer rejects by part and supplier; lead projects that measurably bring them down.

· Root cause and CAPA: Lead structured investigations (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) into nonconformances and customer complaints; own corrective actions through to verified effectiveness.





· Drawing and GD&T; review: Review customer drawings per ASME Y14.5 before production; flag unspecified dimensions, ambiguous datums and malformed callouts with the customer up front.

· Quality system: Keep our processes and records aligned with ISO 13485 and FDA QMSR (21 CFR 820) expectations as a registered contract manufacturer — NCR/MRB, device history records, document control and audit readiness.

· Customer communication: Act as the technical quality contact for international customers — investigation reports, SCAR responses and clear written updates.

Required Qualifications:

· B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial or Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.

· At least 5 years of hands-on quality engineering experience in medical device, pharmaceutical equipment or aerospace manufacturing.

· Strong command of GD&T; (ASME Y14.5) and reading complex engineering drawings.

· Proven record of quality projects that increased throughput or reduced rejects, with numbers to show for it.

· Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work on multiple projects across different industries.

Preferred Skills:





· Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or a Lean manufacturing certification.

· Experience working within a customer's quality system as a supplier or contract manufacturer.

· Experience with orthopedic instruments or implants, and stainless steel (420, 17-4 PH, 465) or titanium parts.

· Supplier quality engineering experience, driving improvement at external manufacturers.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday – 10:00 – 18:00

Ability to commute/relocate: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering/Industrial Engineering or related field

Experience: 5+ years in quality engineering — medical device, pharma, aerospace or automotive manufacturing
