Barometer Technologies
· Mumbai (Worli), in office
· Full-time
· 6–8 years' experience
· Reports to the founder Barometer is known for operations. We get restaurants, bars and cloud kitchens live on our inventory and cost-control system, and then we stay with them every week: counting stock, checking variances, sending the reports their owners run the business on. The person who built that operation is moving on. We're looking for the person who runs it next, and runs it better. Who we are Barometer builds Baro MATS, the inventory and cost-control platform used by some of India's best-known restaurant, bar and café brands. Software alone doesn't control food and liquor cost, so a 12-robust delivery team works alongside it, serving 80+ clients across Mumbai, Pune and Goa. We're a small company with a strong product, a founder who builds, and a team that uses AI (Claude) in daily work. The job You own delivery. Every client, every report, every person on the operations team, every schedule. You know what each client has bought and how it should be serviced, who is serving them, and whether the work is on time and right. When something goes wrong, you hear about it before the founder does, and you fix it. Three team leads report to you. They carry the client relationships and the product knowledge. You bring the system: the standards, the rhythm, the SOPs, and the decisions.
What you'll do
• Run the operation as a system, not from memory. Written scope for every client, fixed report days, a weekly client-health review, and a churn and complaint log. Nothing lives only in someone's head or on WhatsApp.
• Own quality and timeliness. Reports go out on the day promised, right the first time. You track late, pending and revised reports every week and bring the numbers down.
• Lead the team leads. Monthly one-to-ones, a scorecard per pod, clear books of clients per lead.
You coach them to run their pods the way you run the operation.
• Run people operations. Scheduling, leave, coverage, onboarding new joiners with a senior pair, and getting the best out of each person's time and effort.
• Take client feedback and act on it. You're the escalation point below the founder. You decide what gets re-done, who visits, and when a client needs a different plan, and you flag it to sales.
• Keep clients paying. When a client is late because they're unhappy with service, you find out why and fix the service. You work with accounts and sales on the rest.
• Build with AI. Claude is in daily use at Barometer: for reports, for task tracking, for the Monday summary. You'll push that further, and you'll write the SOPs so the next person can do it too.
• Decide. Most calls on scheduling, allocation, standards and service recovery are yours to make. Pricing, credits, hiring and the largest accounts stay with the founder, and you bring those to him with a recommendation. Your first 90 days
• Days 1–30: learn the product and the clients from the founder, the team leads and Claude. Take over the schedule and the team.
• Days 31–60: zero pending reports older than 7 days. Operations tracking live in ClickUp. Written scope agreed for every client.
• Days 61–90: pod scorecards running, weekly client-health review in place, and you're the first call for client escalations. You'll fit right in if you
• Have 6–8 years in operations,
with at least 2 running a client-facing delivery team of 10 or more in a services business.
• Come from a business known for how it runs: managed services, outsourced accounting or audit, facility or workforce services, hospitality or QSR operations, or customer success and delivery at a B2B SaaS company.
• Can show us SOPs, dashboards or systems you built, and the numbers that moved because of them.
• Are a digital native. You already use AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT at work, and you'd rather build a workflow than repeat a task.
• Make decisions and own them. You bring your manager problems with a recommendation, not a question.
• Communicate clearly in English and Hindi, with clients and with a team that ranges from fresh graduates to 7-year veterans. Bonus points
• You've worked in food and beverage, or sold to it.
• You've run operations in a company that grew fast while you were there.
• You've used ClickUp, Zoho or similar tools to run a team. Probably not for you if
• You want a strategy role. This is a run-it role.
• You need everything decided for you.
• You'd rather manage from a dashboard than sit with the team and the clients. What you get
• A senior role in a company where operations is the product, reporting straight to the founder.
• A team that already exists, clients that already pay, and a founder who wants to hand you the keys.
• Competitive pay, discussed at offer, plus health insurance and a half-yearly performance bonus.
• Daily work with the latest AI tools and a say in how we build them into how we serve clients.
• Mumbai, Worli office. This is an in-person leadership role.
How to apply
