We’re Hiring | Senior Pump & Water Systems Domain Expert (SME)

High-On Innovation (HOI) is expanding its engineering domain expertise to support upcoming AI-driven industrial technology and water infrastructure initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced Pump Systems & Water Distribution Specialist who understands real-world engineering challenges and can collaborate with our AI, software engineering and data science teams to develop technically accurate, reliable and practical digital solutions.

Position: Senior Pump & Water Systems Domain Expert

Experience: 8+ years preferred

Location: Remote — India preferred

Engagement: Consulting / Part-time / Project-based

Key Responsibilities

Provide domain expertise in centrifugal, submersible and industrial pumping systems.

Review pump selection, performance curves, system curves, efficiency, operating limits, NPSH, cavitation and troubleshooting procedures.

Validate hydraulic calculations, engineering formulas, operational guidelines and maintenance recommendations.

Support interpretation of water distribution networks, flow, pressure, reservoir levels, leakage and water-loss measurements.

Review engineering manuals, pump documentation, technical standards and maintenance records for use in structured digital knowledge systems.

Work with our AI/ML team to validate pump-related AI assistant responses, engineering calculations and technical knowledge.

Develop realistic engineering use cases, troubleshooting scenarios and technical evaluation datasets.

Help identify incorrect or unsafe engineering recommendations before deployment.

Collaborate with HOI’s engineering and technology teams throughout solution design,



validation and testing.

Required Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Significant practical experience in pump engineering, water pumping infrastructure or water distribution operations.

Strong understanding of pump hydraulics, maintenance, performance evaluation and technical troubleshooting.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications, pump curves and operational data.

Experience working with engineering teams, industrial clients, water utilities or pump manufacturers.

Ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly to software and AI engineers.

Additional Advantages

Experience with EPANET, WaterGEMS or hydraulic network modelling.

Understanding of SCADA, IoT sensors and pump telemetry.

Knowledge of District Metered Areas (DMAs), Non-Revenue Water (NRW) and leak detection.

Exposure to energy optimisation and pumping-system efficiency.

Experience reviewing or validating engineering software, digital twins or AI-powered technical tools.

Significant: You do not need to be an AI developer. We are specifically looking for strong engineering-domain expertise. Our technology team will handle AI/ML models, software architecture, integrations and platform development.
