We're expanding our platform with additional payment integrations, intelligent automation, and multi-tenant infrastructure supporting merchants, ISOs, ISVs, and payment providers.

We're looking for a highly experienced, hands-on engineering leader who can take ownership of our technology, lead our development team, and help scale our engineering organization.

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Full-Stack Fintech Engineering Lead to oversee our technical architecture, full-stack development, infrastructure, engineering processes, and technical hiring.

You'll work directly with the founder and collaborate with our existing project manager and development team.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position—not a purely managerial role.

You must be comfortable designing scalable systems, writing production code across frontend and backend applications, solving complex technical problems, leading developers, and recruiting additional engineering talent as needed.

You'll also lead the evaluation and implementation of AI-assisted software engineering systems, including autonomous coding agents and multi-agent development workflows. We're open to commercial solutions, open-source frameworks, and proprietary internal tools.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development & Architecture

- Own and improve our frontend, backend, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and overall SaaS architecture.
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.
- Build and maintain frontend interfaces, dashboards, administrative tools, and backend services.
- Make architectural decisions across the full technology stack.
- Write production code, review pull requests, debug complex issues, and establish coding standards.
- Oversee system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Establish automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, documentation, and deployment best practices.
- Collaborate with our project manager to translate product requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.

Fintech & Payment Infrastructure

- Design and build integrations with payment processors, gateways, merchant platforms, and financial APIs.
- Develop transaction monitoring, chargeback management, dispute submission, and reconciliation workflows.
- Integrate platforms such as Stripe, Shopify, and other payment providers.
- Support chargeback prevention systems, including Verifi RDR, Ethoca, and related technologies.
- Contribute to payment orchestration, transaction routing, and multi-processor architecture.
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive financial and merchant data.





AI Engineering & Automation

- Enhance our existing LLM-powered merchant intelligence and dispute management systems.
- Develop AI workflows for evidence analysis, document processing, transaction risk detection, and recommendations.
- Implement AI evaluation, monitoring, structured outputs, and human approval processes.
- Build automation that reduces manual operational workload while maintaining accuracy and reliability.

Autonomous AI-Powered Software Development

- Evaluate AI coding assistants, autonomous development agents, and engineering automation technologies.
- Architect multi-agent workflows for planning, coding, debugging, testing, and code review.
- Explore supervisor/worker agent systems and parallel development environments.
- Integrate AI-assisted workflows with GitHub, Jira, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Assess third-party, open-source, and internally developed engineering solutions.
- Implement security controls, human oversight, and measurable productivity improvements.

Multi-Tenant SaaS & Partner Architecture

- Design systems supporting merchants, ISOs, sub-ISOs, ISVs, processors, and other business partners.
- Build flexible organizational hierarchies supporting unlimited levels of nested business relationships.
- Implement secure tenant isolation, role-based access, and organization-scoped permissions.
- Develop portfolio dashboards, centralized reporting, and scalable account management.

Engineering Leadership, Hiring & Team Development

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to our existing developers.
- Take ownership of engineering quality, technical execution, and development best practices.
- Evaluate team capabilities and identify skill gaps or additional staffing requirements.
- Lead the technical recruitment process, including sourcing strategies, screening, technical interviews, coding assessments, and candidate evaluations.
- Help recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop additional frontend, backend, full-stack, AI, or infrastructure engineers as the company grows.
- Recommend team structure, engineering resources, and hiring priorities based on business requirements.
- Work with the founder to plan engineering headcount and budgets.
- Establish clear technical expectations, performance standards, and accountability.
- Collaborate with the project manager to improve development planning, estimates, and delivery timelines.
- Build an engineering organization capable of scaling efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of skilled software engineering experience, with strong full-stack development expertise.
- Hands-on experience building fintech, payment-processing, or financial infrastructure products.
- Strong frontend and backend development skills using modern frameworks and technologies.




- Expertise in API development, SQL databases, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Strong understanding of payment APIs, webhooks, transaction lifecycles, and data integrity.
- Proven experience architecting complex systems and independently writing production code.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and reviewing the work of other developers.
- Experience participating in technical recruitment, interviewing, and engineering team development.
- Experience with GitHub, automated testing, CI/CD, and production deployments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and engineering automation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Fiserv, TSYS, or similar payment platforms.
- Knowledge of chargebacks, Verifi RDR, Ethoca, and card-network dispute processes.
- Experience with payment orchestration, transaction routing, or reconciliation.
- Experience developing LLM-powered applications and AI agent systems.
- Familiarity with autonomous coding agents, multi-agent orchestration, and AI engineering platforms.
- Experience building or evaluating internal developer automation tools.
- Experience recruiting and scaling remote or distributed engineering teams.
- Familiarity with React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, or comparable full-stack technologies.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS, fintech security, Docker, Kubernetes, or infrastructure automation.
