Role Description The Senior Data Engineer role is a full-time, remote position focused on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support advanced analytics on the Sisense platform and related technologies. The person in this role will develop robust data pipelines, implement Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, and architect data models and warehouses that enable efficient reporting and dashboard performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with BI consultants and product teams to understand data requirements, optimizing data structures for analytics, ensuring data quality and reliability, and troubleshooting issues across data infrastructure.

Engineer will also contribute to best practices, documentation, and automation efforts, while mentoring other team members and supporting enterprise clients in modernizing their analytics environments.

Qualifications

- Strong data engineering skills, including experience designing and maintaining scalable data solutions and pipelines.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing to support analytics, reporting, and dashboard performance.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools to move and transform data across systems.
- Background in data analytics, with the ability to collaborate with BI teams and translate business needs into technical data solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Java).
- Experience with cloud data platforms or services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data stack components.
- Familiarity with Sisense or other BI/analytics tools, and experience optimizing data for dashboarding and self-service analytics.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in enterprise environments and working with cross-functional stakeholders; prior work with Retail, Healthcare, or similar domains is a plus.
