Position: DevOps Lead – Banking

Experience Level: 6 to 10 years (At least 2 years in a leadership role)

Location: Ghansoli (Thane Belapur Road), Navi Mumbai (Onsite)

Work Mode: Onsite (5 days a week + 2 alternate Saturdays per month)

Engagement: Full-time

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are hiring a DevOps Lead to own the CI/CD pipelines, container platforms, and infrastructure automation for a core banking application portfolio in Navi Mumbai. In this hands-on onsite role, you will lead a team of engineers, manage production operations and incidents to strict SLAs, and ensure all platforms comply with banking security, audit, and IT governance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pipelines & Delivery

- Design and manage enterprise CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps with quality gates and automated deployment across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD.
- Establish Git branching workflows, artifact management, and deployment strategies.

Platform Engineering
- Build and operate container platforms on Kubernetes or OpenShift using Docker/OCI images, Helm, ingress routing, scaling, RBAC, and secrets management.
- Manage hybrid infrastructure and underlying cloud resources.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.
- Ensure environment builds are fully repeatable from code with automated drift detection.

Operations & Observability
- Design monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent tools.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management following ITIL standards; manage SLA compliance and root cause analysis.

Security & Governance
- Maintain pipeline and platform security per banking information security standards.
- Manage vulnerability remediation,

Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 6 DevOps engineers, perform technical reviews, and front client weekly reviews.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to improve deployment speed and lower failure rates.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have Skills

- Experience: 6 to 10 years overall in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, including at least 2 years of direct team leadership.
- CI/CD: Hands-on expertise with Jenkins pipeline-as-code, Git workflows, artifact repositories, and deployment gates.
- Containers: Direct experience running Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters in production, Helm charts, ingress, RBAC, and secrets management.
- IaC & Automation: Solid experience with Terraform module/state management and Ansible roles/inventories.
- Observability & OS: Deep Linux administration, shell scripting, Prometheus/Grafana monitoring, and centralized logging.
- Operations & Security: ITIL incident and change management, vulnerability scanning, system hardening, and audit evidence practices.

Bonus Qualifications
- Direct DevOps delivery experience inside a bank or financial institution.
- Production experience with OpenShift clusters.
- Certifications: CKA, CKAD, Terraform Associate, or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Tooling expertise: DevSecOps toolchains (SonarQube, Trivy, Vault) or GitOps tools (Argo CD, Flux).

Work Conditions & Clearances
- Must work onsite at Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai on a 5 days + 2 alternate Saturdays per month schedule.
- Must pass standard background verification checks (education, employment, address).
