Job Description: A Mines Head / Project Head / Site Head (Open Cast Coal Mine) leads all operations, strategic planning, statutory compliance, and team management for open-cast coal extraction projects. Core Responsibilities

- Mine Planning & Operations: Design and execute short- and long-term strategic mine plans, dump management, and heavy earth-moving machinery (HEMM) deployment to maximize coal production and operational efficiency.

- Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to norms set by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), IBM, and State Pollution Control Boards.

- Clearances & Land Acquisition: Manage Forest Clearances, Environmental Clearances (EC), Consent to Establish/Operate, and local rehabilitation/resettlement (R&R;) or land acquisition work.

- Safety & Quality Management: Drive zero-accident safety cultures, conduct regular audits/mock drills, and oversee grade control, coal blending, and quality management.

- Stakeholder & Liaison Management: Coordinate with government departments,



local authorities, contractors, transport agencies, and community CSR stakeholders.

- Budgeting & Reporting: Oversee monthly operating budgets, fuel consumption, machinery utilization, and daily/annual KPI reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mining Engineering.

- Experience: 15 to 22+ years of total experience in the coal mining industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or site head role. Prior greenfield project exposure is often preferred.

- Certifications: First Class Mines Manager's Certificate of Competency (as per statutory guidelines where applicable).

- Key Skills: Deep knowledge of open-cast mining engineering, rock mechanics, statutory mining laws, contract negotiation, and up-to-date digital/automation mindsets in mining.
