Scope

The GCC Build Expert (SME) is responsible for supporting the end-to-end setup and

operationalization of the Global Capability Centre (GCC), ensuring that all

infrastructure, operational, and coordination activities required for service delivery are

executed effectively and in alignment with the Orbit transformation program.

Operating within a large-scale, multi-function transformation setting, this role

provides hands-on expertise and execution support across the GCC build phase,

translating the defined operating model into practical, implementable solutions at site

level.

The role acts as a key enabler of the SSC Build Lead, ensuring that build activities

across facilities, infrastructure, technology coordination, and operational readiness

are executed in a structured and timely manner.

The GCC Build Expert operates in a highly dynamic environment characterized by:

multiple parallel build activities and dependencies,

coordination across global and local stakeholders,

tight timelines linked to transition waves,

evolving requirements driven by design and workforce planning decisions.

The role requires strong hands-on execution capability, attention to detail, and the

ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders while maintaining alignment with

program objectives and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. GCC Build Execution & Coordination

Support execution of GCC setup activities across infrastructure, facilities, and

operational readiness.

Coordinate day-to-day build activities in alignment with program timelines and

milestones.

Ensure tasks are completed on time and meet defined quality standards.

Track progress of build-related activities and escalate delays or issues.





Maintain structured documentation of build activities and deliverables.

2. Infrastructure & Facilities Support

Support setup of physical infrastructure, including:

o office space and workplace configuration

o equipment and workstation readiness

o vendor coordination for facilities setup

Ensure alignment with global standards and requirements.

Validate readiness of facilities prior to workforce onboarding.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

Act as a coordination point between:

o SSC Build Lead

o Technology / IT teams

o Recruitment & Onboarding

o Transition teams

Ensure alignment between build activities and workforce ramp-up.

Support resolution of cross-functional dependencies impacting readiness.

4. Operational Readiness Support

Ensure operational components are ready for service delivery, including:

o systems access and tools coordination

o workspace readiness

o documentation and process alignment

Support validation of Day-1 readiness for transition waves.

Assist in identifying gaps or risks impacting operational readiness.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

Support management of local vendors and service providers.

Track vendor deliverables and ensure adherence to timelines and

expectations.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements.

6. Risk Identification & Issue Resolution

Identify risks related to build execution, infrastructure, or coordination.





Escalate issues to SSC Build Lead in a timely manner.

Support implementation of mitigation actions.

Ensure continuity of activities despite local or operational challenges.

7. Support to Transition & Stabilisation

Assist in preparation for transition waves.

Support stabilization of operations post go-live.

Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience

6–10 years of experience in operations, project coordination/management, or

shared services environments.

Experience supporting setup or scaling of delivery centers / GCC / SSC

environments is preferred.

Strong execution and coordination skills in complex environments.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Experience working with cross-functional teams (HR, IT, Operations).

Strong attention to detail and structured approach to problem-solving.

Familiarity with India GCC ecosystem in a Pharma environment is an

advantage.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or

related field.

May require flexibility in working hours to support global coordination.
