JOB DESCRIPTION – SECURITY MANAGER

Position: Security Manager
Department: Security
Location: Brunton Boatyard, Fort Kochi
Reports To: General Manager

Job Purpose

To ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees, property, and assets by effectively managing security operations, implementing preventive measures, and maintaining a protected and secure environment in accordance with hospitality standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, manage, and supervise the day-to-day security operations of the property.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, visitors, and hotel assets.
- Develop and implement effective security procedures, policies, and emergency response plans.
- Lead and supervise the security team, including duty allocation, briefing, training, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct regular security inspections and identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor CCTV, access control, fire and life-safety systems, and other security equipment.
- Handle and investigate security incidents, accidents, thefts, complaints, and emergencies.
- Maintain proper security records, reports, registers, and incident documentation.
- Coordinate with local police, fire department, government authorities, and other external agencies whenever required.
- Ensure strict control of entry and exit of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
- Conduct regular fire, evacuation, emergency, and security drills.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and company security policies.




- Support management during emergencies and crisis situations.
- Provide security awareness and emergency response training to employees.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure professional handling of sensitive security matters.

Candidate Profile

- Graduate/Diploma in any discipline; qualification in Security Management will be an advantage.
- Defence/Armed Forces background is preferred.
- Prior experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant security experience, with supervisory/managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, emergency management, fire and life safety, and risk assessment.
- Good leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
- Good knowledge of local security procedures and liaison with government authorities.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CCTV and security systems.

Preferred Background

Candidates with a Defence/Armed Forces background combined with relevant hospitality/security management experience will be given preference.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
