Job Description: Accountant – Railway Yard Project

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, financial transactions, vendor payments, project expenses, and documentation for a railway yard infrastructure project. The candidate will support project financial reporting, maintain accurate accounts, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting, GST, TDS, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain daily accounting entries, vouchers, ledgers, and financial records.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and contractor payments.
- Verify supplier invoices, purchase bills, work orders, and supporting documents.
- Maintain records of project expenses, site expenditures, petty cash, and cash advances.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements and cash and bank reports.
- Assist in GST returns, TDS calculations, and other statutory compliance activities.
- Maintain purchase registers, sales registers, expense statements, and general ledgers.
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, procurement teams, and head office accounts.
- Track project-wise expenses and assist in preparing monthly financial statements and cost reports.
- Verify contractor bills, labour bills, material invoices, and measurement-related supporting documents.
- Maintain records of labour payments, subcontractor bills, and employee reimbursements.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with vendors and customers.




- Assist in payroll processing, attendance records, and salary documentation, where required.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, payment records, audit documents, and other financial records.
- Support internal and statutory audits and ensure compliance with company accounting procedures.

Educational Qualification

- B.Com / M.Com / Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Candidates with relevant accounting certifications will be preferred.

Required Experience

- 1–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, or railway projects.
- Experience in project-site accounting and vendor/contractor bill processing will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in Tally Prime or other accounting software.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, bank reconciliation, and general accounting principles.
- Understanding of purchase invoices, subcontractor bills, petty cash, and project cost tracking.
- Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.

Work Location

Salary: Negotiable, based on qualifications and experience.

Preferred Candidates: Candidates with construction-site accounting experience, particularly in railway infrastructure, civil projects, or other large infrastructure projects.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
