Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Product Head – Ocean (Import & Export) with strong expertise in ocean freight pricing, product development, and independent business generation. The candidate will be responsible for developing the Ocean Import and Export product, generating new business, procuring competitive rates, building strategic relationships with shipping lines and overseas agents, and driving revenue and profitability.

The ideal candidate should have strong market knowledge, excellent pricing and negotiation skills, an established network of industry contacts, and the ability to independently develop business opportunities and expand the company's ocean freight portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop the Ocean Import and Export product to drive business growth and profitability.

- Independently generate new business opportunities, acquire customers, and develop revenue streams across ocean freight.

- Develop new trade lanes, markets, customer segments, and overseas business opportunities.

- Manage ocean freight pricing, rate procurement, and negotiations with shipping lines, NVOCCs, co-loaders, and overseas agents.

- Obtain competitive buying rates and develop effective pricing strategies to maintain healthy profit margins.

- Build and maintain solid relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, international partners, and key customers.





- Develop business for FCL, LCL, and special cargo shipments across major international trade lanes.

- Identify market opportunities and monitor freight trends, competitor pricing, carrier capacity, and rate fluctuations.

- Handle customer RFQs, tenders, spot quotations, contract rates, and commercial negotiations.

- Work closely with sales and branch teams to convert inquiries into business and achieve shipment and revenue targets.

- Develop direct customer accounts and overseas agent business to expand the company's ocean freight volumes.

- Establish product-wise business plans, pricing strategies, revenue targets, and profitability benchmarks.

- Monitor buying and selling rates, gross profit, shipment volumes, and customer contribution.

- Identify opportunities to increase market share, improve margins, and expand the ocean product portfolio.

- Prepare regular business forecasts, pricing MIS, market updates, and performance reports for management.

- Ensure timely rate updates, accurate quotations, and effective coordination with pricing and operations teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management,



or International Business will be an advantage.

- Minimum *8–10 years of experience* in freight forwarding, with strong expertise in Ocean Import and Export.

- Proven ability to independently generate business and develop the ocean freight product.

- Strong expertise in ocean freight pricing, rate procurement, and commercial negotiations.

- Established relationships with shipping lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents, and customers.

- In-depth knowledge of FCL, LCL, international trade lanes, market rates, and freight commercial terms.

- Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers, develop business opportunities, and achieve revenue and gross profit targets.

- Robust understanding of Incoterms, local charges, surcharges, free time, and ocean freight documentation.

- Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and relationship-management skills.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, pricing analysis, and business performance reporting.

Preferred Candidate: A commercially driven ocean freight professional with strong pricing expertise, an established industry network, and a proven ability to independently generate business, develop Ocean Import and Export products, and drive sustainable revenue and profitability.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
