About the Firm

Arun Chandran & Associates is a Chartered Accountancy firm based in Kaloor, Ernakulam. We provide statutory and tax audits, income tax, GST, ROC/MCA compliance, accounting and advisory services to a diverse client base that includes proprietorships, partnership firms, LLPs, private limited companies, trusts and societies.

We are looking for a Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant who can take ownership of client engagements, handle assignments independently and lead a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Audit & Assurance

- Plan and execute statutory audits, tax audits (Form 3CA/3CB–3CD), internal audits and other attest engagements in line with the Standards on Auditing
- Prepare and maintain audit working papers, documentation and checklists
- Identify audit observations, discuss them with client management and draft reports for partner review

Direct Taxation

- Prepare and file Income Tax Returns for individuals, firms, LLPs, companies and trusts
- Prepare income tax computations, advance tax workings and TDS/TCS compliance
- Draft replies to notices and handle assessment-related work under the guidance of the partner

ROC / MCA Compliance

- Handle annual filings (AOC-4, MGT-7/7A, Form 11, Form 8), event-based filings, incorporations and other MCA compliances
- Prepare board resolutions, minutes and statutory registers where required

Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Finalise books of accounts and prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Schedule III
- Perform reconciliations (bank, GST, 26AS/AIS, ledgers) and ensure accurate closing of accounts
- Prepare compilation reports, CA certificates and MIS where required

Leadership & Client Management





- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
- Supervise, guide and review the work of junior associates and trainees
- Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple assignments with minimal supervision

Eligibility (Mandatory)

Only candidates who meet one of the following will be considered:

- CA Intermediate cleared (both groups), with articleship completed or in its final stage, or
- Articleship completed under the Direct Entry route (graduate/post-graduate entry) with a valid completion record from ICAI, even if CA Intermediate is not yet cleared.

Experience

- Articleship experience in a CA firm with practical exposure to audits, income tax, ROC and accounting
- Post-articleship experience of 1–3 years is an added advantage

Preferred Skills

- Sound working knowledge of the Income-tax Act, Companies Act 2013, LLP Act and GST
- Hands-on experience with the Income Tax e-filing portal, MCA V3 portal, GST portal and TRACES
- Proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel (reconciliations, workings, lookups); familiarity with Zoho Books or other accounting software is a plus
- Ability to finalise accounts end-to-end and prepare financial statements independently
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Malayalam
- Leadership ability, ownership of work, attention to detail and discipline with deadlines
