Destinare Services is seeking an experienced Life Sciences or Medicine expert to lead a team of trainers developing realistic, terminal-based scientific and technical tasks for scientific AI evaluation.
The selected candidate will review scientific tasks for accuracy, reproducibility, data compliance, and automated grader reliability. This role requires strong computational expertise, scientific judgment, and the ability to mentor trainers and maintain high-quality research workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Review scientific tasks, datasets, reference files, computational pipelines, solutions, and automated tests.
- Validate scientific correctness, statistical methods, experimental design, and reproducibility.
- Evaluate bioinformatics pipelines, computational biology workflows, clinical data analyses, and medical imaging tasks.
- Ensure software dependencies, databases, reference genomes, and tool versions are properly controlled.
- Verify that automated graders assess meaningful scientific outputs rather than formatting alone.
- Identify vulnerabilities that allow tasks to be bypassed or solved using hard-coded outputs.
- Ensure datasets are synthetic, public, appropriately licensed, and de-identified.
- Review tasks for biosafety and dual-use concerns and escalate potentially harmful biological content.
- Provide actionable feedback, track revisions, and maintain quality documentation.
- Mentor trainers, allocate work, monitor quality and productivity, and resolve blockers.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.D., M.D.-Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, or equivalent advanced experience in life sciences, biomedical sciences, or medicine with a substantial computational component.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, along with Bash, Linux, and terminal proficiency.
- Hands-on experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, medical imaging, or clinical data analysis.
- Solid understanding of experimental design, statistical inference, and reproducible biomedical research.
- Experience reviewing code, scientific analyses, manuscripts, or research outputs.
- Previous experience mentoring or leading technical or research teams.
- Excellent written communication and feedback skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tools such as GATK, BWA, samtools, bcftools, STAR, Salmon, DESeq2, edgeR, Seurat, Scanpy, Nextflow, or Snakemake.
- Familiarity with RDKit, GROMACS, OpenMM, AutoDock Vina, or PyMOL.
- Knowledge of medical imaging tools such as MONAI, FSL, SimpleITK, nibabel, or pydicom.
- Experience with Docker, Conda, Git, CI systems, automated testing, or high-performance computing.
- Experience designing computational benchmarks or evaluating AI coding and terminal agents.
- Familiarity with data governance, IRB processes, or biosafety review.
- Industry experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, clinical research, or health technology.
- Relevant publications, open-source contributions, or prior AI training and evaluation experience.
Engagement Details
- Workload: Minimum 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
- Time Zone: Four-hour overlap with PST required.
- Duration: 5 weeks.
- Employment Type: Contractor assignment; medical and paid leave are not provided.
- Start Date: As soon as possible, subject to confirmation.
Pay: Up to ₹1,800,000.00 per year
Application Question(s):
- Do you hold a Ph.D., M.D., M.D.-Ph.D., or equivalent advanced experience in a relevant life sciences or medical field?
- How many years of experience do you have in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or clinical data analysis?
