We are an ambitious startup developing innovative, automated beverage vending machines for the Indian market. Our initial launch will focus on Pune and Mumbai, with plans to expand to other cities.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on engineer who can take charge of the complete technical development, assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of our vending machines.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong, resourceful professional who wants to work directly with the founders, build a product from the ground up and grow into a leadership role as the business expands.

Position Details

- Designation: Founding Engineer / Lead Engineer
- Location: Pune, Maharashtra
- Experience: 5–10 years preferred
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Travel: Pune, Mumbai and other locations as required
- Reporting to: Founder / Management

Key Responsibilities

A. Machine Development and Assembly

- Take end-to-end responsibility for developing and assembling beverage vending machines.
- Understand and integrate mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, dispensing mechanisms and control systems.
- Identify, evaluate and source suitable components from Indian and international suppliers.
- Coordinate with fabricators, component manufacturers and vendors for custom parts and assemblies.
- Develop prototypes and support the transition from prototype to commercially deployable machines.

B. Electrical, Electronics and Automation

- Work with electrical panels, wiring, sensors, motors, pumps, solenoid valves and other electromechanical components.
- Integrate PLCs or microcontrollers, motor drivers, relays and control systems as appropriate.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, dispensing failures, sensor errors and automation issues.
- Coordinate with software developers and external vendors to integrate machine controls, touchscreen interfaces, payment systems and IoT features.

C. Beverage Dispensing and Mixing Systems

- Develop reliable systems for dispensing beverage powders, flavouring ingredients and liquid bases.
- Integrate storage canisters, powder metering mechanisms,



water dispensing systems, mixing chambers, blenders and beverage delivery mechanisms.
- Optimise ingredient dosing accuracy, mixing consistency, dispensing speed and beverage quality.
- Resolve practical engineering problems such as powder bridging, clogging, leakage, residue accumulation and inconsistent mixing.
- Ensure effective cleaning, hygiene and food-contact safety.

D. Component Sourcing and Vendor Management

- Identify and source suitable components from Indian suppliers and international marketplaces, including China where appropriate.
- Compare technical specifications, prices, quality and reliability.
- Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), component lists, assembly drawings and costing sheets.
- Coordinate with suppliers and fabricators to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
- Identify opportunities to reduce machine cost without compromising reliability or quality.

E. Testing, Installation and Maintenance

- Conduct prototype testing, performance trials and reliability assessments.
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting manuals.
- Install and commission machines at initial deployment locations in Pune and Mumbai.
- Diagnose field failures and implement corrective measures.
- Train technicians, operators and service partners as the business expands.

F. Startup Operations and Product Improvement

- Take ownership of technical activities with minimal supervision.
- Identify design improvements that reduce machine cost, downtime and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions and service records.
- Establish repeatable assembly, testing and quality-control procedures.
- Work directly with the founders to convert product concepts into commercially viable machines.

G. The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on problem solver who can build, test, repair and improve a machine independently.

The ideal candidate:

- Enjoys developing new products from the ground up.
- Can work across mechanical, electrical and automation disciplines.
- Is resourceful in identifying components and practical engineering solutions.
- Is comfortable working directly with founders and making technical decisions.
- Takes responsibility for results, deadlines, quality and cost.
- Is willing to learn, experiment and find solutions when standard approaches do not work.
- Wants to grow with an early-stage startup and eventually lead its engineering and technical operations.
